Super job again Steve, well done mate, kudos for spotting the timing out by one tooth!!

I like the honesty in your videos; "nipped" skin when grips slip, getting annoyed when bolts seize etc. This, to me, makes genuine and interesting watching, not to mention the skill and knowledge needed. Many thanks for posting. Stay safe, all the best.

After 40 years in the trade it is always the same when working on older bikes that have not been looked after, and doing it on the floor gets much harder after your 50th birthday, especially in the winter time without a garage, respect to all you mobile guys out in all weathers.

How about a length of earth wire from some 2.5mm cable. It’s flexible but stays in shape so makes feeding the chain through the various orifices during refitting much easier than using a pic & screwdriver 😎🔧

Good job mate I was praying those exhaust studs didn’t snap on you😆

Well done Steve, glad to see your videos as always. My son has also an YBR125 and if its time later on in future, we then knoq how to manage this job. I'm an motorcycle mechanic in my small garage, but only do my own bikes, specially BMW K-bikes from the 80's. Doing this kind of job outside in all weather conditions is difficult and troublesome, so all consideration is warranted. Excuse my bad english, I live in Sweden and it was long time since I was learning english in school. 🙂 Excellent job and videos Steve !

Your English is much better than my Swedish 🇸🇪 👍 And thank you for commenting and enjoying the videos

Well done some of that job looked awkward needed more fingers and hands😂😂😂

When I did this, I used a zippy tie to hold the cam chain and thread it up the tunnels. You've done it perfectly, but that tip helped me. The job is so much harder on the floor. I'm surprised it doesn't rain on your vlogs. Great job.

Great tip!

You obviously haven’t watched all of our videos 👍 it sure does rain sometimes!!

Well done you must have edited a few swear words out of that video. I have been a biker for more than 40 years and learn a lot watching you. After watching a few videos i get the impression people have been in there before you and left you with problems.
@themobilemotorbikemechanicАй бұрын
That could well have been the case. We only get to see the bike on the day so it’s always fun 👍👍👍

Nothing worse than right at the start the job bites you, but you saw it though, Well done Sir.
@Myrussell67Ай бұрын
I am sure it runs better now that the timing is correct.

Hi Steve I use to tie a cable tie to the top of the timing chain and tie it to the frame

Sorry to be picky but you did not say anything about alining the piston rings with bore and you might have beaded to recheck the valve clearances as you have removed the cylinder head
@themobilemotorbikemechanicАй бұрын
You can be as picky as you like, and yes the clearance probably should have been checked which is something we didn’t do on this occasion.
@andymorgan385Ай бұрын
Just a thought while you had the cylinder off you didn't put a new piston and rings in

Not requested by the customer and no point. If it works leave it alone. We don’t spend customers money just because.

Please when working on Japanese motorbikes use the correct screwdriver. JIS cross head screws are different and are easily rounded by people who use wrong tools

Yes we know the difference

Shame about the annoying drone most of the video, had to leave the wife in the living room, and watch the rest up stairs.🤪
@themobilemotorbikemechanicАй бұрын
Yeah it was an extractor fan at the place we did the job. The editor lady tried to remove it from the audio best she could 😊👍
