Troubleshooting why there is fuel in the oil and in the antifreeze of a 1941 Ford 9N tractor. The owner of the tractor was on a tight budget, so the fix wasn't done to perfection, but the guys went over and above to make sure the tractor was fixed properly.
Thanks for watching!

My father and I ,with a neighbor who's a retired diesel heavy equipment mechanic, fully rebuilt my Dad's( 1948 Ford 8N) tractor ,35 yrs ago for$ 1200 , my Dad bought it new in 1948 for $1000 with a loader and back blade, we used the tractor a lot for raking hay and cleaning out cattle barns . It's was rebuilt again in 2020 by the current owner. It's used daily, harrowing a sand surface ,in a large horse training arena, and raking hay in the summer time.

Sidney did a great job of explaining while looking good on camera! And Kevin should be very proud how well he taught the boys. No doubt you Rhonda are very proud of your whole family. Thanks for taking us along for the entire rebuild, looking forward to the same on the Challenger. Best regards from Florida.

I grew up with a Ford 8N as one of our tractors. Had the engine rebuilt about 1977-'78. My oldest brother still has it & uses it to plow and disc his massive garden. Those things are true work horses. We also had a John Deere 4020, another work horse. Great job Ronda on the video & kudos to Kevin, Sydney & Ethan for a job well done! I hope Zander got to help some too, increasing his knowledge & ability.

Great job everyone!!! We had an 8N Ford loader tractor. They had improved by then, and put both of the brake pedals on the right side platform. I am thankful that they figured out that putting the brake pedals together on the right side, was a huge improvement. The old 2-cylinder John Deere tractors I drove, had a brake pedal on the left side of the platform, and a brake pedal on the right side of the platform. But what made it easier, was that they had a hand clutch lever instead of a foot clutch pedal. This made it easier for emergency stops, because you could use both feet on the brake pedals, and use your hand on the clutch lever. They have made great improvements over the years, in the placement of the clutch pedal and brake pedals.

I couldn't believe Sydney had so much to say, he was terrific, how did the owner feel about even a cheap rebuild, seems he would've been delighted to having running well again, the 8 and 9ns were among the first tractors I drove, certainly different than the modern tractors, you did great, Rhonda driving it for the first time, excellent rebuild and video

Just a suggestion....When I built engines back in the 70's, I use to put fuel hose pieces on the rod bolts...just to ensure the bolts would not score the crank bearing journeys when installing the piston/rod.

We called the lever on the side overdrive - not only did it speed up the transmission but also the PTO. Worked good pulling the hay crusher because you could use a lower gear and run the crusher faster (my job as a kid!)

A 9N was the first tractor my Grandpa bought. It put the 2 teams of work horses in semi retirement! Grandpa would not sell the horses. During WW II he would use the horses to save rationed gasoline for the tractor to use in the car! I still have that tractor. It runs and I plan on passing it on to my children! Lot of sentimental value there! That was the first tractor I learned to drive!

Awesome you rebuilt + saved that old Ford tractor! The boys certainly did a good job rebuilding the motor. Sure has a unique "4 cylinder" sound! Wonder what size of 4 cylinder engine this is & the horsepower. May still be bigger cylinders + displacement than my 2020 Ford Ranger 2.3 liter EcoBoost (138 CID), lol. Fun old tractor though.
