We expand the shop capabilities by acquiring a beam and trolley for the Yale hoist. We also use some engineering software to show how the system will be supported by the existing building structure.

Unigraphics, Mechanical Desktop, Inventor, then Solidworks. Always something!

Yes, this is the type of lifting device I was thinking of in the video when you were lifting the lathe. And nice demonstration of Solid-doesn't-works. I still remember SW 2005 which used to crash suddenly and without any warning. Ctrl+S after ANY change, to avoid loosing progress. We also used Cosmos for the FEM-analysis. (And if you messed up the settings of the mesh-grid-size, the computer would spin into orbit by trying to calculate a gazillion nodes.... ). Thank you for the video, looking forward to the next one.

Love it or hate it, Solidworks is the one I have the most hours on now, so not changing...😁 thanks for your interest!

I never modeled my home built gantry, (8 wheels on top of two parallel 2 1/2 inch 1/4 wall square tubing 8 foot long), but I am limiting to one ton anyway and it is way over built for that. very nice project, and you know it will be safe.

Bit sketchy unloading, but it was his beam until it was on the ground...
