ENGL Fireball 100, Ceriatone Leviathan 100, and Friedman JJ-100 - Same Riffs

Күн бұрынThis video is meant to show these three amplifiers playing the same three riffs. Now it is down to two riffs because Slayer blocked my content. No Raining Blood here, it seems. Anyway, these tracks are NOT mixed in Pro Tools, and no sweetening has been done. The only EQ is a 160hz high-pass filter on the guitars to remove mud. The end of the video has the high-pass filter removed.

They all sounded great, quite distinct. Fireball gets my vote here, but the competition was very close.

The Fireball is an incredible amplifier to be certain. It is being used on every track on the Wynter Kills record. Just an absolutely great amp.

The Engl sounds gainier and tighter, the Levi a lil flubbier on the low end but more open and organic, maybe cooler. The Friedman flubbier and smoother, not a fan

Nothing touches the ENGL in gain... it has ridiculous amounts of gain. The Leviathan doesn't have the gain of the ENGL, but it is warmer overall. The Friedman is a darker amplifier than the others, and the gain is a bit smoother overall. I should have my Uberschall Ultra next month, so I am looking forward to comparing a lot of my amps with it soon.

@@TheTerrorBeyondhow does the Uber ultra compare to the leviathan? I should add that I am selling my multi watt recto to help fund something else. It’s time. I love a big loose saturated sound but really want something that can do the hot rodded Marshally thing as well

@@benpotter4905 The Uberschall Ultra is tighter than the Leviathan, but they compare very favorably overall. The Uberschall Ultra is not the amp for you if you want a looser sound. The Leviathan is pretty tight as well, but not like the Bogner. Between the Bogner and the Ceriatone, I would choose the Ceriatone for your purposes... you would not be disappointed. It is a brilliant amp.

I played this outside and now all the neighborhood cats are pregnant! The Engl Edges it out by a GAIN HAIR for me on all the clips.

The ENGL is a monster of a head. It has the most gain of any head I own, and of any head I have ever played. I tried to get the amps to sound as much alike as possible in these clips, and they all sound AMAZING in a mix... even without the track really being mixed. Any of those amps would be welcome in ANY metal player's studio.

OH, and the Slayer clip was very cool... too bad that Slayer blocked the content. I had originally played Raining Blood on all three amps.

@@TheTerrorBeyond They Blocked it? yeah Im not surprised at all. They Blocked One of my LIVE Videos were we playing Judas Priest on copy right grounds.. when it was US at a Show Jamming it. haha... The Ceriatone sounds better to me than the Engl on a 3rd Listen in the house thru the PA.. MAN Nic makes some amazing Heads ! AND he's Handsome too!.

The Ceriatone has more clank on it. Sounds more a like a vintage circuit for high gain. The Engl sounds like it was made for exactly what you were playing. The Friedman was OK but didn’t have the top end aggression quite like the Engl.

@@Skoora The JJ is a bit darker amp in general... after listening back, I really should have increased the presence.
