Our golden generation. Hopefully it will continue the more we get young girls into football. USA have dominated for so long because "soccer" is considered a female sport and the college set up gave the sport an investment and growth we simply couldn't rival over here. Now the investment has gone into grassroots and we are seeing the dividends already. It really feels like we are only just getting started here in England with what we can achieve on a global scale.

Another fantastic result for the lionesses albeit just a friendly but still. Have to say though the US 2nd goal did not look offside unless it was just the angle, felt very bad for them there. Also for the their first goal you'd have to question Millie Bright's pass to Stanway also, should be clearing down field with a US high press. Huge congratulations to both teams, such immense talent.

That was an absolutely atrocious VAR decision to disallow the 2nd goal for USA. The player receiving the pass near the sideline was completely ONSIDE, as well as her teammate who received the first touch flick pass. On live television, they drew an offside line for a US player that was at least 25-30 meters away from that initial action, but because she was obviously not involved in the initial build up her position was completely irrelevant at that moment. Horrendous decision to disallow that goal and poorly explained during the telecast.

Offside is when the attacking player is level or beyond the defender when a pass is made. On this occasion the attacker was one foot beyond the defender. Harsh I know, but it can happen to both sides. Basically the forward didn’t time her run .

First England goal the cross from Mead was on point but the pass from Bronze to Mead nutmegging Rapinoe was delightful. Talking of Rapinoe's heard some messages about her being booed was due to a homophobic crowd. Not in least! Rapinoe was being showed tough love, we all know she is a player who can change a game and got a great applause from both sets of fans when she left the pitch. The atmosphere was amazing, lots of friendly banter between fans in the area I sat; this is how football should be supported.

I was there at the game and it wasn't homophobic. Lol not in a women's football crowd. It was because what the TV didn't show (yes I have watched the game back) were key moments of gamesmanship. One moment a goalkick was awarded which rapinoe ignored and walked off to the corner flag ball under arm in protest, she spoke back to eng players about a var decision - it was the hemp pen - and the lineswoman had to run onto the pitch to sort it while the ref looked at the var screen, then finally the announcement was made for Rapinoe to be subbed off and she ignored it and stayed on the pitch pretending not to notice before she was told to run off. The cameras picked up none of it.

The England attack at times was pulling the USA defence all over the place-pity they left their shooting boots in the dressing room! However, without Williamson to organise them, the England defence was a mess, come back soon Leah, oh, and Alessia Russo as well! I would have liked to see Jess Park get some playing time-perhaps she will in Tuesday's match.

Your telling me that game England played against Spain wasn't quality opposition with the Lionesses having to battle and not lose heart when for a while looked like wasn't going to go their way and yet...they did get the crucial goal and won it. The first 2 goals were defensive errors, if that was men's football they would be criticizing the defenders. Fact. Penalty was harsh, you can clearly see the defender pulls out of the challenge.

What l admire so much about this team and entire squad is that they all have that genuine desire and work for each other, and lets remember this performance was with even some of the what would be 1st choice players Russo and Williamson not available from injury but yet against the US when it truly mattered they defended well and pressed well basically it was a very even match, far cry from once upon a time. Okay yes they had the moment which cost them and US scored from it but, they didn't fall apart from it they stayed composed and ultimately won it. You put all that together and these mainly young Lionesses have such great prospects ahead, and why even now when hear certain people on tv (i.e such as certain comedian who appears on GB News), not give them proper respect they deserve makes me so mad. Whole flipping country should be backing them for the international football pride they've managed to instil again in this country after how many times the mens squad has failed at the last hurdle.
