It's really sad that you have lost the ability to think for yourself and are just parroting headlines from people who have never even watched a women's football match and are just seizing on the outcome of the tournament to push their boring political agendas. Everything that Rapinoe has stood up for has been echoed and supported by pretty much all of the other major teams in women's football. She isn't some outlying figure on the margins of the debate -- she is simply brave enough to be herself and stand up for those who don't have that luxury. The irony of idiots like you praising Sweden, when the Swedish Women's team is made up of people like Magdalena Eriksson, who have publicly taken very similar stances to Rapinoe. Sports teams do not lose because they espouse a position of inclusivity and show compassion -- sports teams lose because no team can always win. It's a mixture of skill and luck. There is no deep-seated conspiracy theory. 'Dave Wright' does not have all the answers. Rapinoe's social conscience did not somehow magically ensure the USWNT's marginal loss to a poor Sweden side, who were only kept in it by Musovic's efforts in goal. It was just random chance on the night. You clearly don't give a crap about the women's game and the sport is not here for you to jump on the bandwagon and start pursuing some kind of crusade against 'wokeness' (alas that term does not mean what people like you always think it means). Yes ignore the blatancy of the Referee who saw what happened and gave her a yellow card because she thought it was perfectly okay to stand on the Nigerian player. Melissa Borjas is well known to Nigerians her name is in Nigerian papers not for the first time. She only awarded the red card after VAR called her out. If that had been a Nigerian player the same Borjas would have given her a straight red. So yes racism all the way, You being the biggest one of all. FYI Lauren James is not black.

Referees operate under extreme pressure and have to make very difficult decisions, most of which are controversial and argued over subsequently. You cannot possibly claim that she would have given an immediate red if the situation were reversed. That is pure speculation. Surely the fact that the referee willingly overturned the yellow card in favour of a red is evidence that she was not supporting one team over another. Melissa Borjas is an experienced referee. Funny how you say nothing over the red card earned by Deborah Abiodun in the group stage match for a nasty challenge on Ashley Lawrence. Was the referee also 'racist' then? Lauren James is not a 'girl' -- she is a professional footballer and should be referred to as such. I'm pretty sure you wouldn't refer to a male footballer like Harry Kane as a 'boy.' No matches that have taken place in this tournament have been anything like Sunday League. Games have been of an excellent standard throughout, but by all means keep belittling women's sports simply because you are feeling cross. Bad challenges occur everywhere in the game from the highest to the lowest levels, including those with intent such as James's foul. They are not magically localised to amateur settings. It's just part of football. Lauren James has not committed a crime and people like you need to dial down the hysteria. Very few teams play match after match with only excellent performances. It just isn't normal to keep up that level of form. What matters is the result and England are through to the quarter-finals. They might not be playing brilliantly, but they are coping well with a prolonged injury crisis and other setbacks. Even if they go out at this stage they have still done themselves proud and at the end of the day only one team can win Frankly I'm utterly sick of the conditional nature of some of the support in women's football. Idiots like you jump on the bandwagon when teams are winning trophies, but immediately turn on the team when times get tough. At the end of the day surely anyone who has watched the England Men's Team for an extended period of time must be used to 'lacklustre performances?'
