Throughout the 70s and 80s, the England team could be relied upon to wrest defeat from the tightly-clenched jaws of victory. There were that many times that England managed to make me groan and cover my eyes... what a transformation! Nowadays, you EXPECT England to tick off a run chase, or bowl out the opposition in the 4th innings in a Test Match. I'm proud again to watch England play.
