In the original, the lines which are said twice, *"If I gave you my life, would you please just glance my way."* is different and more heart-wrenching. The first time was, "If I could use my entire life to wait for you, would you share a glance with me?" It represents Lan Zhan after Wei Ying died, waiting for him to return. The second time was "If I could use my entire life to look over you, would you be willing to share a glance with me?" is Lan Zhan swearing to protect Wei Ying after he returned to Earth, so that he would not die again. 😭😭😭😭

This had me in tears because is basically Lan Wangji calling out to his lover Wei WuXian who at the time didn't have the chance to admit his love for him got me, he wanted Wei WuXian's love but at the time Wei had no idea.

@One bored chicken He's never been the mouthy one. He grew up as a repressed Lan and followed 3000 rules all his life. And he never got to explain himself properly cause Wei Ying already drawn his own conclusions. Then more misunderstandings came. Then the Wen remnants issue where Lan Wangji just let him go seeing as WWZ has other priorities and a new family. He was held back by his duties and sect. Also, it's not like WWZ makes it easy. For a genius, WWZ would make a crappy politician. And Lan Zhan did confess to Wei Ying when he saved him in Nightless City. And WWZ answer? Get Lost! (Sure he was delirious at the time but the words stuck) After that LZ was whipped then the siege of the Burial mounds came where WWZ practically committed suicide.

Actually, Lan Zhan did confess after the nightless city battle. But at the time, Wei Ying was already out of his mind and became very very empty. So he didn’t hear anything he said and kept telling him to scram.

Ya'll, we need to thank Mo Xuanyu. I feel he gets overlooked so easily. RIP, bud. He suffered and had a rough life and if he had not done the summoning, WuXian would not be back and WangJi would have had to live his current lifetime without him.

I’m not really into Yaoi or Yuri but this has to be one of the most - - I can’t even put into words- - story. Tragic, beautiful, agonizing. Not to mention the animation is fantastic!!! And this song I could sing it all day because it reminds me of my crush, who doesn’t even know I exist and I think of those lines “if I gave you my life would you please just glance my way. SHITTTT THIS IS GREAT! The syllables don’t feel awkwardly crammed together like a lot of English covers of foreign languages songs do, your voice sounds AWESOME too! And I know this is a minor detail, but a I love how in the first verses you didn’t include the reference to Inquiry (the song played to ask spirits things) but did at the end, so it still keeps the meaning of the original song of LWJ playing Inquiry in a desperate attempt to connect with wwx after death :’)
