Hi! First of all I have to say that I love you. You're teaching me a lot, and thanks to you I'm succeeding all the interviews and tests I applied for to become a flight attendant. Of course, I know the difference between knitting and crochet: to knit you use the knitting needles, to crochet you use the crochet needles. Them are different tools!

Crochet is kind of a Single hook which is small and used to form a loop and thats how threads looped together to form a cloth piece whereas Knitting requires a pair of needles which are big enough to form a loop :)

Mark, I honestly knew the word, but I just learned that i was mispronouncing it all my life. I was just pronouncing it the way it is written, ch as opposed to the correct way with sh. I have been working on my English for over 35 years, but I still sometimes learn new words and expressions from you. Thank you for continuing a great work. Sultan.

I saw the difference between knitting and crocheting on youtube. The difference is the knitting is made with two large thick needles without holes in them and crocheting is made with only one needle, it is not a needle it's a thin hook. It was a great lesson. You know I don't comment these days because I have no much time these days because of building a house. But I watch every single video from you. Now after a year, I can understand you speak easily, even in getting to sleep. Your videos help me a lot. Thank a lot for making useful videos like this. Please make some different videos like your daily activity, wherever you go what you saw in Calgary, what you special did and going to do, etc.

Knitting uses a pair of long needles to form the loops, moving a set of loops from one needle to another. The stitches are held on the needle or “live”. Crochet uses a single hook, to hook the loops together directly on the piece. Minh - Ho chi Minh city, Vietnam

Great lesson! It clearly demonstrates that new words should be learned in the context of their usage, not only verbal but full context. The more complex and numerous our associations with a word are the easier, faster and more firmly we memorize this word.

I'm living in Italy and I don't try to understand word to word when I'm talking to someone here, but the context. The same I do when I'm attending some conference or talking to someone in English. I still can't understand word to word in English, but the context I can. I'm trying to improve my listening skill by listening some British radios online, like bbc radio Nottingham. I love it! And I have an Indian friend. She's a PhD student at the same University where I study. Since she can't speak Italian yet and most people who are renting rooms can't speak English, I helped her to find a place to live here. :-)
