Laura in the Kitchen I am binge watching your videos. I've been watching cooking videos since I was little and love to cook and bake. It's so refreshing to see someone that is no nonsense, not afraid to make mistakes (or a mess). Brava!

Yes! I freeze them in a big zip lock bag and when I'm in the mood for one, I pop it in the microwave to thaw it, split it open with a fork and toast it in my toaster. They are delicious and great to keep on hand in the freezer!

Laura, these look just like the Australian toaster biscuits I bought over 20 years ago. There was granulated honey in them so when they got hot, all you needed to do was a touch of butter. They were so good. I'll be trying these in the next week or two!!

Outstanding! This way we can have these any time we want, any way we want and don't have to pay a bunch of money to the grocery store. Because I don't know if you've priced these lately but for any kind of quality, it can get pretty pricey.

EMS - you get a rougher texture when you separate with a fork. More crispy bits and more little spaces for the butter to melt into.

Hello! So I needed English muffins and they didn't have them at Sam's club where I usually buy it, so I thought "Why not make them yourself?" So I looked over 6 different recipes to see which one looked better and the comments, to see if someone made them, I couldn't find a comment that said so, BUT I found a comment that said it was good in your recipe, So! Long story short, I made them! And they came out perfect! Thank you! I'll see if your Facebook page allows to upload photos so people can see that your recipe is perfect and not that difficult, because I was able to make them too! Laura, you rock! Greetings from a Mexican fan :)

crumpets are slightly different than english muffins, their texture is different (the english muffins are more bread-like (you slice them to eat them), crumpets are eaten whole and have lots of holes that the muffins don't have) :)

Here's a tip in how to get the yolk at of an egg:Crack an egg in bowl like you would regularly, then take an empty water bottle and hold the opening to the yolk squeeze the bottle slightly and tough the mouth of the bottle to the yolk and the whole yolk sucks right in wants you release your squeeze. (I know this is irrelevant to the video) ;)

hey i have a good recipe for you. its called "CHOCOLATE BISCUIT PUDDING" 1. biscuit but no wafers,cookies,or cream biscuits, you can use gram crackers (plain) or marie biscuits. 2. fresh cream and original cream 3.milk (to dip in the biscuits) 4.cocoa powder 5.sugar method-first take the biscuit and dip it in the milk.then lay it on the dish. then mix the fresh cream, original cream into the cocoa powder and sugar until smooth then spread it on the biscuit layer. continue.put it to set overnite

Coarse-ground dried maize. Wikipedia tells me that in the UK it's called polenta, but Wikipedia isn't the world's most reliable source. Elsewhere in the world, polenta is cooked cornmeal. Hope this helps.

EVERYONE WHO IS PLANNING ON MAKING THESE: Do NOT heat the milk any higher than body temp, anything over will kill off the yeast.

@roid465
@roid465 8 жыл бұрын
+Cersei Lannister No you're confused, living things also have adapted biologically in accordance to their native body temps. Yeast has no protection and behaves more like a culture. Once the yeast is killed by high temperatures it will not cause fermentation. I am a chef and I can tell you if you make bread with fresh yeast and heat the culture above 38-40 degrees you get barely any fermentation.
@roid465

+Cersei Lannister "Yeasts vary in regard to the temperature range in which they grow best. For example, Leucosporidium frigidum grows at −2 to 20 °C (28 to 68 °F), Saccharomyces telluris at 5 to 35 °C (41 to 95 °F), and Candida slooffi at 28 to 45 °C (82 to 113 °F).[23] The cells can survive freezing under certain conditions, with viability decreasing over time."

Laura! You should try making a traditional mexican bread that it is the bomb and a must in this time of the year. It is called: pan de muerto. I really recommend you try it out because you will LOVE it! It is sweet but not too sweet and it tastes amazing with milk or coffee. Let me know if you try it! P.S im telling you because im mexican so i know what im saying ;)

you can make changes to any recipe to accommodate your lifestyle. In my personal opinion, I would rather eat a small amount of something decadent than a big piece of a low fat version of it. Certain things (like desserts, breads and pastas) are things I eat small portions of and not everyday. It's all about a balance!
