Hi Friends Welcome back to the craft castle! Today I’m showing you how to engrave a powder coated tumbler without ever using a laser machine! Laser cutters & engravers are so expensive, and while they are totally worth the investment in my opinion, I know not everyone has one available to use. So! Here is a super cool hack to getting engraved tumblers without ever needing an expensive machine! While the final product is a bit different than the laser etched one, it's still a great alternative!

Hi Marisa! Technically all stainless steel tumblers should be hand wash only. But who actually does that? Lol I’ve put mine in the dishwasher all the time and have zero issues.

Once the coating is removed, it's just bare metal. Do you need to seal?? No concern with rust??

The stuff I used just takes the powder coating off, it’s not going through the metal. So I wouldn’t be concerned about rusting. I also didn’t seal anything, I probably wouldn’t suggest putting it in the dishwasher (but technically you are only suppose to hand wash these tumblers anyways).

It’s an epilog zing 24 … they no longer make my model but if you search up epilog lasers, they’ll pop up. Pretty shocking on the price but 100% worth the investment

A laser cutter / engraver is a large machine that can come with a rotary tool to laser engrave round objects like a tumbler. The one I have is an epilog. but there are also other laser cutters that allow for round objects. The most popular laser cutter on the market is a Glowforge, and those cannot do tumblers.

interesting, because the steps that I did take, gave me a finished product that looks perfect. So adding in more steps would totally be a waste.
