Xiamen is such an interesting place. Watching Wu Lei and his palpable excitement at visiting the different parts of the city was wonderful. It seemed like he learned a lot about the place, too. Stumbled onto this interesting video while waiting for the next episode of "Love Like The Galaxy", the July-August 2022 mega hit 4 billion views C-drama (around 57 episodes, currently on 32) set in Han dynasty, with Wu Lei as the heart-stoppingly attractive general 22 years old Ling Buyi (same age as Shanghai born Wu Lei who will be 23 in December) and Zhao LuSi as his very young fiancée, also a general's daughter as 15 years old Cheng Shaoshang (marriageable age in those far removed times; Chengdu, Sichuan born ZLS will be 24 in November). This show has it all: heartaches, humor, romance, suspense, mystery, battles, intricate court intrigues, revenge, Shakespearean bloodbaths, and every episode is a thrill thanks to Wu Lei's powerful acting. Watching him ride a horse full speed with ZLS screaming for fright, and next, dry her tears and laughingly tell her that the scene was "all under his control", and in another scene catch the 39kg petite actress and flip her like a pancake, or in another instance, seizing her and carrying her one handedly was ... gasp! This guy is a workout addict, as fit as a god or a superhero and does all the stunt scenes himself, some even without wirework for safety, although he reputedly sustained an accident on set that could have cost him an eye, in 2021. I plan to watch more of his work. He's got a wicked gleam in his eyes, a pleasant voice and infectious laughs : such self-confidence! Truly idol material !🤗 Sure enough, he's got his fan base of 磊迷 (Lei Mi) just as Zhao LuSi has got her own fan base of 露珠 (Lu Zhu = "dewdrops"). Leo Wu's presence as "visitor" adds much to the interest of this video, and I am thrilled to rediscover Xiamen and Gulangyu island following his discoveries and the introduction to local culture by the German-Chinese family of David Krings, the beer brewer. According to the end copyright, this was aired in 2021, but was according to a commenter below filmed in 2019 when he was still only 19 years old (but already a seasoned actor and star in China for many years, with his own studio since he was 16 years old) and had not undergone plastic surgery following the injury to his face in 2021 (successfully : he is definitely still handsome, like his former self). I had already watched with much interest some time ago the Marvelous City episode about Guiyang "starring" Zhou Shen, and will hunt up other episodes now 🥰

喜欢看奇妙之城，最近一次去厦门是2014年的9月，太喜欢那里啦，好喜欢鼓浪屿。真想一辈子住在鼓浪屿上。

I want to go all around China really bad. I’ve only ever been to my family’s hometown in Guangzhou. The last time I visited I was barely connected to my roots, didn’t fully embracing Chinese culture now I am and I really want to visit China and cherish every moment of it. The last time I did cherish it but thinking back not as much as I’d like to now.

总结的很对，厦门确实是小而美的生活，厦门人无论去到哪里,最终都要回来，走遍千山万水，唯有厦门最美。遗憾的是，和前两期相比，吴磊不是厦门人，对这个城市体会不深，流于表面。

Third episode in this series and I am fascinated with real life stories of the locals and Chinese culture. I have to relearn and unlearn so many things about China... I find the quiet musical town particularly interesting... those giant sea food make me quite curious... the boat burning caused me to wonder, and so on... I have to say, Wu Lei charmed me with his fascination with the piano (organ) and amused me with his question about shark presence, made me wonder if he watched J*ws to make his imagination run wild😂. Thanks for another wonderful episode! -Xiao Zhan fan❤️
