I would give you 7.5/10 👏👏👏 My grandma and mum told me the pot of mbanga soup isn't covered to avoid it from overflowing. You could cover it as you put on the fire but as soon as it starts boiling, you open the pot. As the soup boils, it produces palm oil and a few minutes (5 or 10 mins) b4 turning off the fire, you add grounded onion, cover the pot and let the soup boil on low heat. It gives the soup a delicious flavour.

I don't cover when I cook the Mbanga initially, but when it starts boiling, I put my seasoning and meats/smoked fish/turkey, I close w cover and let it simmer on low heat. Different strokes for different folks though and I don't knock anyone if they use a different method. Before I eat, I cut my qwacoco into smaller pieces and "sese" or mix the soup with it hence the Sese Qwacoco. This meal is and will always be a vibeeee!
