Contrary to what Martin claims: observing my competitive and jealous nature has not led to indifference, detachment or any degree of freedom, but to anger and sadness that I can't be strong, beautiful, rich and skilled enough to satisfy the needs of the beast more than a tiny little bit: a genetic failure.

@@michamichalak6200 I remember Martin's video about ''depression is a lack of power, but how does one become powerful? I know the meme advice: consume less, produce more, lift weights, learn a skill, but ultimately only a lucky few get the looks money status, while everyone else is coping with all sorts of delusions. How can you not resent life if you're a loser?

@@ericvulgate You must have been gifted with amazing power because you have either the skill, the money or the social support to buy land, build and maintain a home (with clean water, food, sanitation, gas/electricity, internet) and pay taxes. I guess that's at least a 100.000 dollar in tangible assets. That's way more powerful than wage slaving to pay rent, healthcare, student loans and all sorts of taxes etc. here in Holland.

Is there a dark side? I find it as unnecessary artificial division. I cant imagine a scenario where overemphasizing that every now and then we may manifest anger or similar emotional state could benefit anyone in any way.

Most pessimists die a so called natural death. Only a few are strong enough to end this charade by their own hand. I have known a few. The fellow Swede in the hat voluntarily ended his life 1 year after making this video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/n9uSmrmrprGtfGQ.html

@@StudiousCattery For the lion there is no internal conflict. It does not need to touch the darkness within. Same with rats and cats perhaps. Rats have no pride or shame for being scared of cats as it cannot evolve beyond their program, unlike human beings. Darkness is not necessarily just anger, or hatred alone but can also be fear, cowardice etc. As humans, we can't just say it is what it is so let's be a "fleeing coward" or a "raging hero" (even though both are programmed jumps and not autonomy) for we are conscious beings too and we can't escape that awareness peacefully no matter how many excuses we bring up. It is not about enacting an "ideal state" on top of existing shit but being conscious of "non-ideal states". Carl Jung or Freud would not say it is what it is and flee/rape/kill for we are neither rats nor lions as much as our laziness/inertia likes it to be the case and take comfort in new-age nondual blabbers. Loving-kindness is nothing more than becoming conscious--it is a side effect. Loving-kindness is not about putting up an external showoff because you are scared.

@@pretheeshgpresannan4172 these things are as natural to humans as to a lion. They don't need to be acted upon but acknowledged and felt. Loving kindness is a form of avoidance and repression. It's like spraying perfume on garbage.

@@StudiousCattery Acknowledging and getting felt has a quality of care or kindness to it though it happens "unselfconsciously" as we become conscious of the dark. It is not like we are acting out kindness or trying to enact kindness consciously.

As you said, we're not all shite. But there are a very few who pass through the narrow gate. I've been honored to know a couple in my life.. I suppose that's why saints are so rare -- a genetic aberration perhaps. I'm no saint, but I try to be kind. Maybe I'm trying to suppress my serial killer nature 😅
@deussivenatura5805

But just because something is part of your nature that doesn't mean you should necessarily give into it. Sometimes it's good to suppress your nature, especially for people who have the urge/desire to harm others either physically or sexually (e.g. molestation).
