EpicHawk I have read Escape from Camp 14 and even seen interviews. What the government of North Korea does is despicable. I was just surprised that the city is more developed than I had thought. I suspect that in the relatively near future, NK will pull some crap with the US and the US will (quietly) inform China that if something isn't done, there could be significant import duties or even a trade embargo on Chinese made goods. As the US is China's largest market, they would remove that psychopath.

It's been written about and has been known for quite some time. Tourists can only visit the country if they're accompanied on a state-sanctioned tour, meaning everything you see in this video was shot with permission and under surveillance. Families at parks are there because a tour group is there, not because they decided to go for a leisurely stroll. The room full of people at the computers, for example, is all for show. Think 'Truman Show'. If the camera catches them off-guard they will often just sit there and do nothing, and give very vague explanations for what they're doing. I've seen some where a camera crew visits a hospital with patients who have no ailment; the power will go out frequently and the doctors/nurses will pretend it didn't happen, or claim it's unusual (it's not). I'd encourage you and others to research and watch a few more videos on the subject.

@@Yashodhan1917 Before the 1980s yes. DPRK was the second largest economy in Asia after Japan because the ROK for four decades was a authoritarian Western-backed anti-communist military dictatorship. But when the US and Japan began to pour money into the ROK, which slowly began its democracy, the DPRK’s economy began to shrivel and went worse after the collapse of the Soviet Union leading them to start a famine and build nukes.

@AGH331
@AGH331 6 жыл бұрын
Eh, not really. Due to the use of completely outdated fuels (coal for heating etc.) the air quality in Pyongyang is supposed to be pretty bad. Political stability is easy to achieve if you throw any dissenters (and their entire families) into camps, and it sure as hell isn't as clean anywhere - all visitors to North Korea (including the guy who made this time lapse) are under constant supervision and only shown the nicely tidied up parts of the city and country - no chance to wander off on your own and see the dodgy bits, lest you see the starvation in the countryside.

Tellement incomparable.

I'm well aware that Pyongyang is only allowed to the rich and elite and the rest of DPRK doesn't come close, but I rarely see anything from North Korea that isn't politically charged. This is a lovely way to see a form of normal people living daily life in a place most people never get to see.

The great part of the north Koreans visit Pyongyang, so what you say it's senseless. And you have to know than in a socialist country there are no rich, another thing senseless. And for the last, there are no elite, and you really don't know how the country works. The people than live there are scientist, politics and innovators, they live there because it is the most developed city on the country, and his works are there, and for you to know, the houses in the DPRK are given depending the place you work.

Bien google trad?
