I think Brian Wilson is up there with McCartney/Lennon as the greatest composers/singer-songwriters of all time. The music he created was innovative and unique.

I'm so glad Brian is getting to see how much he means to us, still. How much his music still matters. One of the most brilliant songwriters of this century. So glad he found peace...

Even with all the difficulties he went through to create all the music he did shows the genius that was and is Brian Wilson. I was 13 when they had first hit and now I am 70 and he’s still going!!

If you think anything less of Brian Wilson, you don't anything about pop music of the 60s. Brian was without question on the same level it not more creative then Dylan.

Thomas Rogers You obviously, don't know much about 60s music. Do you? But, feel free to resort to childish behavior, doesn't change the fact that Brian Wilson is one of the most creative songwriters of the last 50+ years.

You''re an expert on what exactly? Yourself? Incidentally, Einstein, it's 'au contraire'. Stick to words that you can spell in a language that you understand. Fool? Yes, you are.

the beatles and the beach boys...the sounds of the 1960`s. when you think of the beatles, it`s beautiful tuneful, self written songs...so many and quite hard to play along with on simple guitar, looks, charisma, innovators, musical development over a short time, outspoken, unique, brightened up our lives from 1962-69. the beach boys epitomised what was best about america in their music throughout the 1960`s...the beaches, sun, summer, cars, pretty girls, surfing, hanging out with the guys, harmony, musical development....even their deeper music was uplifting, like the end of surf`s up. there`s no doubt that pet sounds influence sgt. pepper....even the dogs barking can be heard on both!

Brian was an open, honest and trusting musical genius, who had his problems ( like most of us). Unfortunately, he trusted greedy parasite 'care givers' with his health (and his money )...

when Cusack says "He shouldn't have done that", it's eerie how much he sounds like Brian

I'd like to see longer clips of those interviews Brian did, the one from the '80's and the other from the early '90s.

As a lifetime fan from the very start : there is only ONE problem with this film : it is far too brief. THE story of HOW Eugen Landy came BACK into BW's life ----------because in '76, he was there-------is part of what is not told, & that's a disservice to both the story & in fairness, to Landy himself. In '76 & again in early '83, Landy began with pure intentions. What happened was that he & " his people " ALL ------ALL-----fell in love, with the lifestyle of glamorous rock stars, & decided that they----------with no musical ability at all--------wanted in on that life, & the money----------women [ even in the 80's ] ------glamour & fame. THAT'S when Landy et al, went off the rails. Mike Love was absolutely correct, when he saw Landy as a guy who saw BW as his meal ticket to The Rock Music lifestyle he----Landy-----had dreamed of but couldn't do, himself. ---------------and, THAT'S why Melinda was seen as a threat. ------------------------Wolfsky9, 74 y/o

Of course he liked it. It plays it safe. Doesn't show just how horrific Brian's decent into mental illness in '67 was other than one well done scene. The Smile Sessions were nightmarish by all accounts. His drinking and drugging are glossed over. It cuts from Mad Genius period to early 40's Brian Wilson. The 60's scenes were done as well if not better at times as the American Family biopic, which is still the best Beach Boys movie. Here they had more room to breathe and show just how unwell he became in the mid 60's. Dude went full Mozart and they only barely scratched the surface. Glossed over Denny too which is a damn shame.

I don't get why John Cusack was picked to play the later years Brian Wilson. He looks absolutely nothing like Brian at all.
