I absolutely love seeing people discover Wintersun for the first time, and react with such jaw-dropping surprise to all the different parts, melodies, and compositional layers (upon layers), that went into making this gorgeous masterpiece. For me the transitions with Jari's range from growls to clean vocals is just phenomenally flawless. And wonderful Kai... like a human Machine Gun! And you just can feel Jukka's low growls, it is like earthquake in mid air...The stories their songs tell is just as amazing... One of the most beautifully epic songs you will ever hear in metal. I saw an interview where Kai Hahto was asked: - Now that in Nightwish, how come you don't do that incredible stuff you did on Wintersun? He laughed and answered: - You don't do things because you CAN, you do what serves the song. NWSU 🤘😎🤘.

The other three typically get a mention so let me tip my hat to Teemu Mäntysaari. Time is a masterpiece that other bands can only dream of! This is one of the vocal performances that I think even Floor could not improve upon. I love this band and track so much.

Won't be able to show up for the premiere, but I am so stoked you're gonna react to Wintersun! I love these guys, though it's a difficult kinda love 😅 EDIT: Watched it! So, first things first: what a reaction! 06:48? 09:40? And 11:58? We're vibin', Alanna, and I'm not even hormonal! I believe It's impossible not to go through every single emotion available in our arsenal when listening to this song. It's such a silent killer, especially with the Darkness and Frost intro which just pulls you in gradually until you're suddenly in the middle of the Feels City, lost and confused, and breathing becomes optional 'cause your mind is in overdrive. And those effin musicians... world-class. I'd like to highlight poor little Teemu chilling in the corner as you guys didn't really talk about him - the guy is a technical beast, it's almost unreal how clean and precise he is with his sound. I'd even go as far as to say I prefer him on lead over Jari. I'm just an artisanship-over-art kinda gal, is all. Anyway, I love Wintersun so much. Gosh freaking darn it to the heck, release something new already!

Teemu is a better gitarist period. His technique is so smooth, economic and precise, no unnecessary movments. If you haven't seen Teemu Mäntysaari giveaway playthrough of the winter madness solo, you really should. A true master of his instrument.

Wintersun is first class masterpiece band from Finland. I really, really hope Jari will give us something new soon, We have already waited for so long... Thank you very much for starting to reacting to them. Until a few years back I didn't realize where listening to the heavier stuff would take me. Right now I'm obsessed by The Forest Seasons (4 obviously, all can be seen in a lyric video of this entire masterpiece) and the heaviest one, Eternal Darkness [Autumn], which was a bit too much for me first, suddenly is my favorite. Just wondering why, is it Wintersun... or just me.

Wintersun is/was supergroup from the start. Drummer and bassist are now permanent members of Nightwish, and the guitarist is a permanent member of Megadeth.

Jari's music differs so much of that of Nightwish, I'm quite confident these two will never totally "merge". Both Jari and Tuomas are such strong personalities, that would never work. And I really would like to keep it that way. Wintersun has anyways been able to survive in spite of these losses.
