How are you supposed to put into words one the greatest masterpieces ever written composed and performed. This is 💯 one of the greatest pieces of metal music I’ve ever heard/watched by far. The amount of mind blowing guitar riffs in this track alone is ridiculous. This is an Olympic guitar off. Scratch that this is the Metal Music Olympics and they took the F-N GOLD. And the vocalist? Forget it. The versatility, power, range, passion & lyricism delivered in a truly stunning emotional performance leaving you breathless. “See what I did there I’m so proud of myself” Ok, back to reality if you can even place this performance in reality. And the drummer is right there the whole time just absolutely CRUSHING IT every dam hit is so powerful, punchy and right there nailed in the pocket. Top notch skills behind the kit with an unbelievable drum production sound. Speaking of the production I’m not sure who’s behind the production of this performance but give them the gold as well cause the instruments sound was pure perfection. The layers upon layers of tracks on this was mixed brilliantly you can hear every single one crystal clear. Keys/piano, strings, guitars, bass, vocals, drums. A truly unbelievable job. I can’t begin to imagine the hours upon hours maybe even years they put into creating something like this out of nothing that turns into an absolute masterpiece. The amount of work that went into this must’ve been exhausting. But than again the most beautiful works of art come from some of the most stressful strenuous situations. GAME OVER ten fold!

And on top of all the technical wizardry going on Jari just pours his heart and soul into the lyrics. It's beautiful, powerful, and haunting.

I understand where you're coming from, but please refrain from calling Finns vikings. At the time when there were vikings, Finland was rather inhabited by shamans. I don't feel calling us vikings is offensive though, just incorrect. Finland is not part of Scandinavia, but in the past decades our culture has become much more Scandinavian rather than Slavic so it's understandable that there's misunderstandings. In any case, an awesome video! I really do love it. In my opinion though, as amazing as this song is, there's still couple of songs which actually go further with the epicness and creativity. One of them Is Eternal Darkness (Autumn). I really wish there were more reaction videos of that song as I have hard time even imagining more majestic pieces of music and I recently made an AI-assisted lyric video of that song and you can find it in my channel (a shameless self-promotion, I know). The other song which I think surpasses "Time" is "Loneliness (Winter)". I simply can't believe one person can come up with such an emotional journey. With the couple of songs Jari Mäenpää has produced, I fully think that 99% of musicians simply make songs, but people like Jari are the true artists.

Wintersun is what happens when you combine the sheer musicianship of Nightwish with the raw, unbridled ferocity of Finland's darker metal scene. It's ridiculous how Jari manages to stand out among literal musical virtuosi with a combined experience of damn near a century. Everything he touches turns into gold.

best metal composition ever written, well that be a very very diffucult choice, and it's a personal one for everyone... i can think of around 50 songs or so which should be candidates for that and still forget many more.... you know when you love music as you do too when something hits it hits right... couple of examples, and maybe you wanna react to some of those if you like, Rainbow Stargazer ( 1976 album version), Opeth- Blackwater Park, Void Of Silence-The Grave of Civilization( most overlooked album of all, lyrics more relevant than ever !) , Judas Priest-Genocide ( Unleashed in the East 1979 version), Candlemass-King of The Grey Islands ( haven't seen that one anywhere !), Solitude Aeturnus-Tomorrows Dead, Devin Townsend-Death of Music ( royal albert hall performance!) Judas Priest-Screaming for Vengeance ( the memphis 1982 live video, on of the best metal singing in human history, Halford is truly inhuman on that !! ) Triptykon-Shatter ( probably candidate for best music video ever!!) hope you guys can check them out !!

Nightwish gets a lot of love and credit is the symphonic metal scene. while I agree that is well deserved, Jari and Wintersun deserve a ton of credit for continuing the genre. After all, if Wintersun was not so influential, Nightwish would not have taken Kai and Jukka into their band.
