i use speak with plants to allow the plants to move there stalks/tendrils. then i wrap my armor in spikey thorns that i plant growth to make the spikes even bigger and tell the vines to lash out at my attackers. its given me 1d8 in retalitory damage.like a weaker fire shield or armor of agathys. if you plant growth and awaken you can even have this combo up forever. (assuming your plant buddy like being fed plant growth spells and your Dm rewards creativity)

Just a head’s up! RAW sneak attack doesn’t work with unarmed strikes or natural weapons - has to be ranged or finesse weapon.

The dirt armor blew my mind thx. All druid except for Star and Wild Fire will appreciate. It is good thing Druids can swap their spells every long rest which gives more room for experimentation. Transport via Trees are more reliable than I have rememberes. Personally, I am not convinced Tree Stride has much worth, it requires Concentration which Druids need direly, it cannot be used with other PC (or Creature), and cannot escape rstraint such as Entangle or Web unlike Misty Step which is 2nd LV spell oppose to TS's 5th spell. I wonder what designers were thinking, this is Bark Skin all over again.

Thanks for the kind words! Personally, I don’t see tree stride as a combat spell. It is for movement and infiltration. Concentration is there so you can use it in wildshape. Additionally, over the course of a minute, you can move 15,000 feat which is about 3 miles. That’s pretty good. But yeah, if you use Tree Stride in combat or as an escape method, it’s not good. However, in my opinion, it’s used for travel and infiltration. Thanks for interacting with the channel!

@@enterthedungeon Come to think of it, doesnt Ghostwise Halfing comes with 30ft telepathy? Telepath feat is good, but free 30ft telepathy sounds also good. Speaking of teleportion, do you think it is ok to use Balm of SC and Hiddrn Path from Dream Circle while in Wild Shape? They are "Spell-like Feature" not "Spell". (In case of Wildfire Circle, I am pretty sure Wild Shape is competing very hard with their "Teleporting Fire Buddy".)

@@kwaksea very true! Ghostwise halfling does come with telepathy. However, I think there are other races that give a little bit more to a Druid. Some of those races can be found in my previous Druid video. As for Balm and Hidden Path, this is how I would rule it. Wildshape says: "You retain the benefit of any features from your class, race, or other source and can use them if the new form is physically capable of doing so." For both class features, you just need a bonus action. It says nothing else. I would rule that you could use both features in your wildshape. However, with that being said, it will be up to your DM at your table. They have that discretion. Although, hopefully this explanation gives a bit of guidance. I played a Dream Druid for about 10 sessions. Much of my combat was spent in a wildshape healing other party members using Balm of the Super Court. It was great fun! I don’t understand how a burrow speed makes you full cover. You need to dig a hole to burrow so ennemis can just look through the hole to find you

I’m currently playing my first DnD game as a Loxodon Druid (started lv1 now lv6) i didnt multiclass and it’s so much fun, druid is so strong and i just entered his powerspike! I followed your first guide, I’m looking foward to use this one in the future, thank you for the simple but usefull explainations!

A spell that wasn't talked about but should be IMO is Polymorph. It is wild shape, but the CR selection for players is higher and it can be used on your teammates. So if the party wizard fell, and the cleric picked them up with a healing word and now they have 6 hp, you can polymorph them into say a Giant Ape, and give them a form with over 150 hp, and an avg dmg of 44 a round, with a +9 to hit. You may also get lucky and turn the bandit captain boss the dm had planned out into something silly like a turtle, or duck or something. Last thing I won't get too heavily into is the versatility of the spell. Just a quick example is for travelling you can turn the heaviest party member into a Giant eagle (with a carry capacity of 480 lbs). Giving said party member a means of flying and carrying along 1 or 2 other party members who may not be able to do so themselves.

Here's another thought I had concerning Antipathy: cast this spell on the party's Paladin of Conquest. They LIVE for fear effects where enemies are afraid of them, and if they get to 18th level where their Aura of Conquest extends to 30 feet, suddenly they're a walking fear magnet because once enemies in their Aura are afraid, their speed is 0 on top of taking psychic damage each turn.

@@enterthedungeon Sadly, not really. That late into the game, most monster enemies are immune to fear.

@@laschicvalisca2481 If you're looking at boss monsters, yes. But most creatures not in the Fiend or Undead categories are usually fair game. So while there are _some_ monsters with immunity, as a DM whose run lots of high level dnd, I bet that this combination would be useful in a majority of fights. Whether to deal with CR10+ monsters or to fight lock down low level grunts.

A two lv dip into paladin would need you divine smite while in wildshape. A moon druids earth elemental hitting you for 2d8+(an additional 5d8 radiant)+6 twice per turn is amazing.

No cleric multi class love? Amazing perks for a one lvl dip plus toll of the dead for a good damaging cantrip. You’re also the 1st person I’ve heard suggest taking rogue with Druid. My out of the box pick would be 1 or 2 lvls of Wizard for find familiar, mage armor & shield.

Did you really recommend grasping vine? You are the first one that I hear that is actually recommending the spell it's amazing. This spell is great to move allies around.

Once you have more spell slots then encounters, use plant growth. No concentration powerful control spell and a good money making utility to boot. Pair it with something that makes use of the slow movement. Insect swarm, maelstrom , flame sphere , or wall of fire . Giant owls can fly over the grass and not provoke attack of opportunity so if the enemy has no ranged or bad range options , conjure animals is good

personally i find multclassing into fighter to get action surge as it allows to use 2 spells in one turn. Imagine placing spike growth and plant growth at the same time, or doing that in wild shape.

May need to double check this, but I believe Charger does not give the +5 bonus to your attack roll, only to the damage roll.

A lot of people crap on Grasping Vine, but I think it combos well with spells like Sickening Radiance. I gotta ask about Ice Storm though, as I’ve never actually seen it used. 23/11 damage and a single round of difficult terrain doesn’t seem worth an action and a 4th level slot. What am I missing?

Hey thanks for commenting! Ice Storm has 2 things going for it. Firstly, it deals mixed damage. While cold is commonly resisted, almost nothing is resistant to magical bludgeoning damage. There will almost never be a situation where ice storm is unusable. Second, that difficult terrain really is a monster. Locking enemies in place helps to shift the action economy back in your favor. 5e monsters rarely have the same amount of ranged attacks as they do melee attacks. By design, they want to get into melee with you. Ice Storm helps prevent this. Against single enemies, it's not great. However, in groups Ice Storm is an outstanding AOE.

@@enterthedungeon And thank you for responding. I agree that magical bludgeoning damage is very good, but aren’t a lot of creatures straight up immune to cold damage? The bludgeoning portion only averages 9/4 damage depending upon of they make the save. I also agree that spellcasters are generally better at crowd control that damage. One turn of reducing movement by 1/2 in only a 20 foot radius, though? Not convinced.

i'm late, but you can summon 8 pixies with the 4th level spell,Conjure Woodland Beings, them you can use their spells, 8 metamorphoses, to be tyranosaurs. or 4 methamorphoses and 4 fly, to have 4 flying tyranosaurs, that when go down, then you have your character at full health. or 8 sprites shooting sleep arrows, idk. you put little spotlight into summons.

The conjure spells are well known for being among banned spells cuz they are just sooooo good or completely trash depending on the dm. Very dm dependent

This spell needs more people talking about it and using it, but you dont mention it in your druid series.. Conjure Woodland Beings. TLDR: Take Conjure Woodland Being spell for 8 free polymorphs. First off, i think only druids and rangers can take it, so you're already a little bit special just for being able to access it. So you use the spell and take the option to summon 8 CR 1/4 fey creatures. Pixies specifically. Pixies have a 1/day polymorph, which can turn you and your friends into creatures with a CR up to your level. Think a team of t-rexes smashing up the place. Or polymorphing an entire enemy team into turtles. Or making the whole team birds to fly to the top of that tower and avoid 4 flights of combat.. Just make sure to include "and then hide" or something in your command to them, so they don't lose concentration on the poly, and the rest is up to you

I've seen Conjure Woodland talked about alot of the time as spells that are banned, especially when used like this. But just like Conjure Animals if the DM does allow it they may not allow you to select the creatures summoned.

Sneak attack unfortunately shouldn't proc even with dex based attacks. Unless it specifically says that your appendages have the finesse property

Sup' I am here to say that I disagree brother ^^' for the feat section you mentionned charger, sadly it don't give +5 to hit but only damage. I am building up my moon druid base in my mind and for me you forgot some feats, mobile is great since it gives immovable beast a speed, a higher for those who have one and can make you hit and disengage either you hit or no don't matter. Sry for my poor English. Skill expert... Grabbing it and athle expert can turn your great constrictor snake a beast, or it can make your bear a pure grapple or shove machine. (plus it's a half feat that can give +1 to anything) Fey touched + Silvery barbs for support druids... Sounds strong... And we all agree on res cons, it's a must for a concentration heavy class like ours. I enjoyed your video and personality tho!

Sneak attack requires a finesse weapon. It can't be used with natural weapons of wild shape. Not without homebrew

Unless you go mercy monk for a while, I personally find monk an underwhelming mc for druids. Outside the 1-lvl dip for Unarmored Defense, almost every monk ability is tied to ki, requiring somewhere around 5-8 levels to be viable. It can certainly be done, but I definitely don't recommend it for new players or optimized parties. Too many resource pools to effectively juggle.

Honestly, kinda dissapointed he didnt talk about what IMO is one the druids strongest faetures when it comes to spellcasting: they have a prepared spell list. While being able to change your entire spell selection out each day isnt unique to druids (clerics, paladins, artificers, and wizards also have this) it can potentially be far more powerful for them than many other classes. The druid soell list is full of utility, and niche spells such as meld into stone, protection from posion, control water, commune with nature, etc. One of the druids most powerdul abilities is to have an idea of what kind of challenges you might face and be able to constantly tailor your spell list to meet those problems. Know that your going to be on a ship for the next few days: water breathing, call lightning, control water, and maelstrom couls be gamechanging spells for you. You're going to be in a cave system tomorrow? Move earth, meld into stone, or stone shape could be extremely useful. Dont have a party healer? Druids get all of the best healing spells in the game. Druids are one of, if not THE, most versatile classes in the game, and are amazing for covering any gaps in the party. Trying to make them ultra-specialized in one thing(like wildshape) can often be a detriment to whats one the things that makes druids a great class. Also, sorry for the rant. Druid is my favorite class, and i feel like the versatility is something that a lot of people underestimate about them. 😅

I would caution to talk with yout DM AND the other players if you want to dip barbarian as a moon druid. Like, don't pull this on a newer DM, they probably won't have the experience or knowledge to use the tools to make that fun for everyone. The DM will have to scale pretty much every encounter for your redonkulous tanking which can make the experience just unenjoyable for the other players. The DM AND the other players kind of need to be on board if this is what you want to do, otherwise your DM might become adversarial or resent the character.

Tbh its not really relevant to use wild shape in combat if youre not a moon druid. Besides casting a concentration spell like moonbeam or heat metal, and using badger to cheese your way underground. Which is metagamey and uninspired and weak anyway. How would you know where to put your moonbeam? You dont have tremorsense. Using heat metal? Nice.. 2d6 damage per round.. wow. The earliest you have access to flying forms is level 8, (bs restriction btw) but by the time you turn 7 you also have level 4 spells, like polymorph. Which can get you a Quetzalcoatl bird dino thing. Like the whole wild shape thing is so.. _vestigial_ at this point. If youre not a moon druid you might as well _not_ have wild shape at all.

Yeah, to be honest, if you aren't a moon druid, or another subclass with alternate uses for it(spores, stars, wildfire) your wildshape is almost always a utility or exploration tool, and not something to use in combat.

Okay, I feel like there is a big misconception in this video. By these levels, your melee combat days are over. Your concentration spells are insanely powerful, and you do not want to drop concentration, lowering your AC and going into melee is just inviting concentration saves. The wildshapes you take are for utility, like flying or borrowing, so you can avoid concentration saves. Produce flame averages 9 damage on a hit, the Giant Hyena averages 10. But your attack bonus for produce flame should be higher than that of the hyena, so you are better off just throwing fire at them. Once we realize this, we also see why the multiclassing options aren't that great. Rogue, well, you cannot use your sneak attack in most animal forms. Sneak attack does not care about attacking with dex, it cares about attacking at range, or with a finesse weapon. So unless your form has a ranged attack, or your DM accepts it picking up a weapon, you are out of luck here. So we don't get to use sneak attack, which means we should still stay in the back, which means we should just cast spells. Barbarian, again, awful, when you rage, you cannot concentrate, your concentration is the most important thing, the slight damage boost from rage does not make you a viable damage dealer in melee. Monk. I guess you could get an AC buff from monk... but you will have to drop your shield, and your studded leather armor, meaning at 20 wisdom, if you are out of wildshape it is +1 AC. Again, I would not recommend trying to make wildshape work at this level, you just don't have the damage in wildshape, so stick to what you are good at, which is spells. More druid levels is far better, more spells per day, and more powerful spells. So yeah, embrace that you are now a full caster, with the ability to fly or borrow to safety, in exchange for not casting more spells for a while.

Ok barbarian sucks with druid it stops you from casting or concentrating, cleric is much better, but then again this whole guide is bout wildshape which is a terrible plan as it is very weak

Rage + moon druid wild shape is disgusting at low levels, but it falls off in effectiveness later on. By that point you're a mid to high level full caster though, so you're not too broken up about it.
