As a mother if I was in the er alone and seen a baby come in I'd want the baby to be seen first, regardless of how I'm doing. The baby has a long life ahead of it, a caring family and friends to make. I can wait a bit longer for a baby.

As a guy who struggles with insecurities about my self image I can completely relate to the fourth story. To give an example, one summer I went and stayed with my grandparents and admittedly put on some weight. The first thing my dad says when I get back from getting off the plane was 'He was fed well'. This was years ago, and I was a teenager at the time but I do still occasionally think of that. However when it comes down to it I know that looks are kinda secondary when it comes to true romance, and while I do still think I'm more average if anything, I know that that won't really matter to my eventual significant other in the long run.

I get people get frustrated in hospitals but to sit and demand that they get in front of an infant is just crazy.

For the first story that lady was unbelievable inpatient once I dislocated and fractured my toe and how to wait over 5 hours and in every minute I felt sharp pains without even have to move. Story 4: Becoming a doctor is something that takes 8 years or more to accomplish depending on which field you're going into. So it makes legitimately no sense that the parents would be freaking out about them taking too long. It takes years, so it is going to take 'years'. They're just going to have to deal with it. The 1st story is relatable We had an appointment at 8am in the morning Me and my grandpa woke at 6am got dressed and arrvied at 8 am Now When we came in no one was there the dentist was present at the time and we sat there for 4 hours doing nothing while other people who came after us got thier teeth checked up keep in mind my teeth had sensititvity problem and it would take the dentist almost 2 hours to complete At last my granpa rudely aksed the nurse why they were not calling us and we got called AFTER almost 1 hour of waiting So in cunclusion it took us 7 hours to get my teeth checked up while i should have only taken 2

for story 1, I actually have a similar experience my family were going to get the test (don't know which, my mom just said "lets go), my mom, dad, and older sister (this story happened years ago) and let my tell you, my dad has a short fuse. we were waiting there for about 1 hour and 30 minutes, and my dad makes a speech when someone before us gets in first about "the system". my mom tried to stop them, but to no avail. this actually worked, and my dad came walking out of there with a still pissed expression.

So, apparently a known issue with cheaters is that, even when they *stop* cheating and become faithful, they're bogged down by their guilt which makes them paranoid. And as someone who sees it every day, I can promise you it's not pleasant. My stepfather used to cheat on my mother, I know this because I heard him having a conversation with someone on the phone. And I wasn't too suspicious at first because he gets calls from certain people all the time. But what had me suspicious was that he said "I love you too" to them. Keep in mind that his family isn't that kind of close, he doesn't tell his sisters he loves them nor his father, and his mother had passed away years beforehand. Plus, whenever he says it to my mom, he says it like he's some 13 year old with a crush that he doesn't want others to know about, saying it in the rushed way before hanging up if they're on the phone. But this time he said it normally, and my mom speaks loudly, but I couldn't hear her in that call. So with all that in mind, you can imagine how awful it was going through my teenage years with the two of them constantly arguing because he was always doubting her. Accusing her of cheating on him with her friend who was Chief of Police or any time she mentioned a man's name he would just suspect her of being unfaithful. I can't tell you how often he accuses her of hiding things or how passive-aggressive he is. There have been so many times I wanted them to just straight up divorce because it put so much stress on me (mostly because before him, we literally had to run for our lives from a psychotic pedo). So if your S/O is like this, don't let it slide, either put your foot down and tell it like it is, or get out of that relationship if they're not willing to even try. No one deserves to be treated like some criminal because someone else can't get their shit together. Not only does it hurt you, but it hurts those around you who have to see either the immediate or after effects it has.

Story 5... the medical student who has been diagnosed with an anxiety disorder being pressured by their parents because they're taking 'too long' to finish. Holy fuck, man... this is something I relate to. I was diagnosed with anxiety and depression nearly 20 years ago, and I can tell you that every step I took to move my life forward is something that a neurotypical will inevitably take for granted. I’m always extremely nice to medical staff. I try to not bother them. I was a CNA for a few years. I know what it’s like. I’m usually complemented on how nice and polite I am and how I’m not needy or demanding. I got called their favorite patient when I last had surgery. Those are the people who control the drugs to make my pain after surgery easier to deal with. So yes I’m going to be nice!!! I don’t want to wait in pain for my turn

In the emergency room, there's the concept of "triage". People with more important chief complaints and clinical histories are "triaged" and given priority to be seen first. If you aren't seen first, odds are, you are in a more stable condition and more vulnerable patients are being prioritized. In this case, it was a premature infant who was given priority. On the story about the international parents: the smartest move, in my mind, is to have the parents declare bankruptcy or some equivalent. They'll lose their house, sure, but getting them an apartment would likely cost as much as you're paying now, but would relieve them of their debts. The father could probably pick up work in the US at some place like Wally World, which would also provide spousal health insurance. Really, at the end of the day, any change would likely be a good one.

Waiting for my daughter to pick me up from the hospital, I and others had to endure an self-entitled 20 something woman saying she had been waiting hours to be seen. She said she had a sore neck. Meanwhile the waiting room at emerge is packed with people who have most likely been waiting just as long. She kept yelling that she had the right to be seen before anyone because she's got a sore neck. She was escorted from emerge waiting room and out of the hospital. Her boyfriend was disgusted enough to call a cab and left her behind because she wouldn't stop swearing at everyone. She was sitting off the property still swearing when we drove by.

As someone who's worked in a hospital, that kind of semi-preferential treatment is pretty common. If you're an ass to even just one or two workers, the entire staff you'll be seeing will know, and they'll react accordingly, meanwhile, if you're kind to them, chances are you'll have an easier time during your visit. I used to work for a contractor at a hospital, I was sorta front desk/ER security, so if someone was nice, then yeah, I'll bend the rules a little and let you use the restroom without getting fully checked in. If you're an asshole to me and my coworkers, or other patients/guests, and try to get past me, then you're going to have the security team coming after you.
