In some circumstances, yes, it might make sense to let someone with clearly more pace by. When you're ten cars single file up and down The Mountain with literally nowhere else "to go," then it absolutely makes sense to stand one's ground.

ive seen a few twitch streamers who thinks people should let them by in a qualify for example, even if the guy infront is on a qualify lap aswell... its like.. why didnt you just give yourself 10 seconds on gap on the outlap instead? now ruining both yours and his lap.

Glad to see you getting more comfortable fighting for your position from aggression from behind. Learning to deal with constant pressure is one of the hardest things to learn. "Am i right to throw a block? Am i just opening us both up for attack? Am i even fast enough to hold him off?" while at the same time remembering your braking points and the track is a testament to how far you have come. Excellent defense and race!

Okay I think I'm understanding the top strategy now: All you have to do is follow closely and then flash your lights, letting the driver in front know that you're, in fact, a superior driver and that they have to give you the inside line for any crucial overtaking corner. And if they don't give you the inside line, then you report them for ramming after you slam into the back of them because they didn't give you the inside line.

I would have stood up for my self as well there. They put them selves in that position after that crash on the opening lap. If they are so good, then they can earn it back, the hard way.

IMO you always have to earn the overtake. The whole "I'm quicker get out my way." Doesn't wash with me. 🤣👊🏻 Good on you mate well raced.

Rory I'm very impressed with your driving skills!! I don't know how you keep those cars from sliding out? I've raced F1 cars online since '98. I have never tried ACC those car's got some grip!! Keep up the good work!

First of all: congratulations, that was a mega race on your part with one of the best overtakes in t2 i have ever seen! Secondly: I like your content a lot, really entertaining and fun to watch, you will be no doubt one of the bigger content creators for simracing in the near future! And my last point: just because they are flashing lights does not mean they think of themselves as entitled to your position. Its more or less an intimidation tactic to force mistakes or to let them by without much defense. I dont like the word entitled here when its "only" a psychological weapon. Besides ELO-rating says less and less about the pace of some drivers. Some are only driving at tracks they are good at or just signed up recently on LFM. I mean they have over 70.000 users already. What I want to say is basically #21 can be as quick or even faster then #4 on the grid. You have to fight for every grid position and not even think about letting anyone by. (Except strategically of course) This is all only my opinion ;)

11:50 Unless you know Bathurst really well, that move will go over your head. Rory not only went around the outside, that part of the corner is off camber. Any loss of grip or even a tap from car 24 and Rory would be in the wall. 99% of the time a move like that doesn't work, nice one Rory.

If a car is clearly faster than me within 2 laps I will let him pass but there needs to be clean air in front for me to find that out.If we are in a train your staying behind I have enough to deal with as is. And if he is all over the back of me he will do the same to the next car and may cause an incident that is going to collect me also.Well played sir! you entering another level,The force is strong in YOU!!! :)

Sure thing, if you consider upgrade at any point Load Cell pedals tends to work very well with iRacing and ACC, but you will need some sturdy rig for them, but a lot of people are super fast even on logitech g29s on this game

I bought a new PC around 2015/16 i5 4670X and a R9 290X along with my wheel and pedals but unfortunately family life and work took over and I became a casual PlayStation gamer. Loving the LFM ACC content from Rory and I am feeling the urge again.

There are 2 schools of thought you could've let car number 4 and chased him so you both gained laptime because he obviouslly had a qualify pace, but he is in no way entitled to you doing it it's up to you if he's so much quicker he'll find an oppurtuinity without flashing lights on every corner. You seem to understand race rules and defens very well so just ignore flashing lights because some people mapped the key on their thumb and just spam it all the time to apply pressure to the car in front which is both unsportsmanlike and annoying, it would be nice if ACC adds a setting to turn it off haha

@@burgers3309 the lower the door number the higher their ranking is on lfm. So the driver with number one will have the highest elo rating in that particular split and so on.

Once your in top split, door numbers dont really mean much, as you should all be at nearly the same level of skill anyway.

The self entitled attitude in sim racing of so many, is why i stopped. I used to play on Pcars on PS4 with pals.... one pal in particular, made a business for himself in online clean lobbies, commentating, and is still doing well for himself. We all made the jump to wheel at the same time, then to other racing titles..... and as the experience grew, as the lobbies became more popular, as the equipment used too sim race became more apparent, as did the attitude of the racers and how bad the attitudes were. The problem is, a LOT of sim racers think, that A. If they are quick and you are a new name, they have some right too pass you regardless of your skill. More importantly B. They think they are somehow ''real drivers''.... They think their lap times, split times and results, make them a breed above the rest, when in actual fact, you are playing VIDEO GAMES. It has got so ridiculous, that many well known sim racers on KZfaq, are posting videos of their set up, and they are in full racing gear! I s##t you not.... racing suite, gloves, helmet! Why? That would be the equivalent of someone putting on a football kit and boots too play FIFA, or dressing in full military gear and face camo to play CoD. It is a game, no matter which way you cut it...... But they think it is life and their attitude puts new people off. I am 43, i was sim racing since Pcars, and the attitude in general stank, and it stank too the point of me leaving. I regret it and want too get back in too it, but it is so sad.

No point in setting the fastest qualy times if you're just going to bin it in the race because you're driving like an entitled twat. As a master of defending, but against drivers with better attitude who encourage and expect it from me, I enjoyed that at the start.

Having to “let by” a “faster” driver kind of defeats the purpose of them being called faster/better imo. If they’re better then they surely have the pace and skill to fight their way past and not just be gifted positions based on rank alone right?

Its their job to get past you. If their door number is so much better, they should have either qualified better or already made the move to overtake. Sorry not sorry, figure it out.

i know this is 4 mths old but your first problem is your racing on LFM its just a glorified public lobby, get yourself in a decent organized real league, its a world changer for driving standards and set rules and penalties ect plus the community side is soooo much better

I’m getting tired sometimes by these lower numbers. Flashing there headlights and making alot of noise in chat. Also push you off track; “because you’re slow” will be there comment. So, they don’t have to race then? I’m in for the races, you want to overtake me? ..find a way! Its a race. And that boring argument that i’m to slow doesn’t make a lower number a real racedriver. When you’re a driver you have to learn how to anticipate! When you think someone is slow, you should be able to pinpoint a spot where you can overtake that car. Clean and save. By there book you can run off others because they are slow, really? They problably run off the elder crossing the streets in real live and leave them for death; because they are slow!

Ngl... i'm not sure where the "entitlement" was? The most aggressive thing towards you was some light flashing lol, something you see in all forms of racing to potentially distract the car in front. I think you're putting too much emphasis on the door numbers. You drove a very decent race, should just be proud of that instead of trying to make up some entitlement narrative. Sorry just my opinion
