She is 53. Yes, she looks beautiful but you can't call her young. I don't see anything bad in his words. She is an older bride. At her age she could have had grandchildren. In my country she would have been already retired. There is no reason to be ashamed of your age, and it would be really strange if he called her a young bride when she could be the mother of the bride.
@camellia86253 жыл бұрын
it would be nice if women weren’t categorised or defined by their age.
@sweetiedahling81373 жыл бұрын
Oks0711 Who’s saying she should be described as young? I know, she knows, we _all_ know she’s older than the average bride. That’s beside the point. There’s no reason to be ashamed of your age as you say, but also absolutely no reason to be _defined_ by your age in this case. Especially when she’s still so young! What other people are doing at that age is irrelevant. Stereotyping people based on their age is not helpful in the best case and harmful in the worst.

Her skin looks like a woman her age if they have looked after themselves, using proper cleansers and probably being English she's not been in the sun a lot. It doesn't look like she's had work done.. Sun damage is one thing that really shows in late fourties and fifties. I myself am nearly 50 and I get compliments a lot from people about my skin. It's true what we do when we are younger impacts our appearance when we're older. Drinking excessive alcohol too can have terrible effects on the skin as well, and it will show. I have simply used a good cleanser and moisturiser since I was a teenager, and important to keep up hydration and exfoliate regularly.

Dress one was indeed boring though. It being ill-fitted, I could see past, I know it will be tailored to fit her body later. That doesn't change how plain it was. I think dress one was too meh, dress two was better for a younger woman (I'm not trying to call her old, but realistically, people usually don't dress the same way in their 50's as they did in their 20's or 30's because certain styles either have passed or doesn't look as flattering on them anymore). Trying two dresses was also way too few. My suggestion would've been maybe something off the shoulder for the sleeves and maybe cut back just a wee bit on the sparkles. That second dress made me think of this hilariously cheesy commercial here in America from like the early 2000's for this DIY jewelry maker set. While of course advertised to girls, there's a part where a mid-30's year old woman wearing bedazzled rhinestone sunglasses says "It's not just a kid's thing, I love to bling!" And if you groaned reading that, that is my sentiment on that second dress. I hope behind the scenes, she tried on more.

While the consultants weren’t unkind in the episode, I’m sad that the show chose to focus on her age in the title as if it was a mark against her. Needlessly insensitive. Things like this are the reason that even 18-25 year olds are devastated over losing their teenage appearance or of becoming invisible after having a child. Wrinkles, curves, and gray hair show life lived and are common to us all. Embracing them shows maturity and strength. She’s a lovely and beautiful bride.

One of the greatest things about being an older bride is you have long-standing friendships. I don’t have a clue where most of the bridesmaids in my wedding are today.

I wish this show had a rule that once a bride has said that they love a dress, the entourage isn't allowed to use words like hideous.

David and the team have to up their game, they always seem to select the same dresses. The bride to be needs to try on other dresses from other stores.

Bride asked if hubby will like it and the answer was "it wouldn't fit him hahaha". Great diplomatic answer for an obvious "Nope he won't".

Hard to believe Mr. Emmanuel had anything to do with Princess Diana's dress. To pushy!

@@irenemoroz4608 Yes, I would run for the hills rather than take a suggestion from him. Diana - I suppose within a couple of years - generally looked fabulous (taking into account 80s’s clothes). That wedding dress was truly awful, and the black engagement dress he designed wasn’t much better. Both dreadful mistakes in my opinion.

Long ago, I remember reading that Princess Diana (then Lady Diana) put Emmanuel in his place when he became a bit too familiar during a bridal fitting. She told him (with a pleasant but firm tone I’m sure), “Back in your box!” I thought that was a very classy way of saying, “Let us remember who you are sir!” I miss Princess Diana so much ❤️

What a beautiful woman inside and out. The problem with the first dress was that it was too loose up top and around the bodice to get a really good idea of what it would actually look like once closely fitted. It did suit her well. The second dress is a perfect profile for her. I would like to have seen her in a satin version with less bling......more queen than princess suits me at this level of maturity. However, she deserves her princess moment. Beautiful dress, beautiful bride.

Omg when she was trying on dresses and standing on that stand and just looking in the mirror she looked just like a young woman like 20 something who usually come on the show. Wow her skin is gorg and her hair ❤️

Sometimes these entourages are too quick to shoot down a wedding gown option or there's some petty jealousy involved. The fewer people that go the better.
