I've only ever had the 1-2-3 punchboard and I just love it. Because of it's versatility I have made boxes and bows that I probably wouldn't have otherwise made. Like you, I love having the extending arm to make larger envelopes and boxy envelopes to take the often thicker cards I make. Much more economical to buy as well.

I received the 123 Punchboard from a friend. It was a year later that I noticed the swing arm 🤦‍♀️! I loved it even more. I had the regular envelope punch (from SU!) and once I found that swing out arm I donated it. I am tempted to buy the WRMK All In One tool for crops but not quite sure if it is worth the price. Love your honest review.

Definitely the 1-2-3 punch board. I purchased the original when it first came out and loved it, but just like you, once I tried the 1-2-3 with the extended arm, I've never gone back. It is one of my craft room essentials!

I love having versatility to also create bows and boxes along with envelopes in one tool, so I was glad I had waited until the 1-2-3 was created to get a punch board. Thanks so much for sharing why that one is your go-to for making envelopes, since I know you make them frequently!!! I appreciate knowing that someone who works with a product a lot and creates wonderful projects with it enjoys a product I own!

I’ve been using the Martha Stewart score board with the included “accessory” for making envelopes. It works great and I am happy that I didn’t need to buy another thing.

I have the cream & blue for years I love it. I learned from a channel on KZfaq if you turn your project angel from the corner fold then crease you don’t need a envelope maker. I use this method for larger envelopes it works. I hear the new envelope maker is large you need the space but nice

I'm so glad my grandma gave me her 1-2-3 punch board. I like creating my own envelopes, I've only made one bow but never tried making a box yet. It is handy to have though

I also have both! The extending arm is the reason I went to the 123 but also because it's set up so you can make envelope card boxes more easily (to fit a set of cards in). Important for me because I make card sets to give as gifts.

Yahtzee! The short scoring surface is my only complaint for the envelope punch board. Totally going to get the 1 2 3 to solve that issue. Thank you so much for the information! 🎉

ahh I hadn't realised that 1-2-3 board had extension arm attached to it but I went for envelope punch board - now I make boxes and gift bag as well large envelope. To continue the score, I just carry on leaving half scored across then flip it over and follow the scored line on the scoring line. I'd only bought the envelope ones because it was cheaper .. Yep I'm a tight person :D But still how you've explained would help other viewers - well done :) I love WRMK and has few (well not few, more than few!) boards :D Forgot to mention, that I use Box/Envelope Calculator app which only available on android- helps me a lot, rather figuring it out that burns my brain!

Fantastic video my daughter loves her 123. I like my Crafter's Companion The Enveloper Pro Scoreboard and Crafter's Companion The Enveloplus Board Scoreboard they both fantastic for making all types different Envelopes.

I have made envelopes of many different sizes ( if it's too big to score all the way down and I've used 12"×12" paper often, just score partially and fold the rest) box envelopes, paper bows, boxes, crackers, tab topped files/index cards etc all using my Envelope Punch Board. Buying a 123 board seems redundant.

I have the envelope punch board and I agree that it's very difficult to score larger pieces of paper, might have to look out for a 1-2-3 board.

Well. I've had and used quite contentedly the envelope punch board for years. I recently purchased the File Folder punch board, which I LOVE. I do have a 'thing' for file folders and the thought of making my own has me in paroxysms of joy. My one complaint about the envelope board is that I also like to make larger envelopes. I have a fairly new cognitive dysfunction. I am literally unable to process math-type things any more. The envelope punch board saves me because it does all the math. I do find myself beginning the scores on the envelope board and then moving over to my large scoreboard to finish a large score, then back to the envelope board for the corner and rounded tab punches. --- Yesterday I had a thought. All of the boards offer 2 unique things, 1. the punches and 2. 'doing the math'. Wouldn't it be a great thing if the punches were sold independently and we could change them out on the board depending on what we were creating? Extendable arms for long scoring, corner, rounded tab, file folder tab punches that could be swapped in and out.

Kristiene i have both of those and then We R came out with the "All in one tool". Paper cutter, envelope maker, bow, tassel, pompom maker, tags, banners, hole punches, tab maker, scoring board, I have to tell you that the ability to make bigger envelopes with this is really great. The paper cutter on it is really great, haven't tackled the stamp press yet as i don't do a lot of stamps but the magnets are really great, the bow maker is really easy. I had a thing years ago that made bowes and i got rid of it when purging my tools and then was really sorry i did, (wrong tihing to do) but this works really good, it has many other things that it does and i am really glad that i purchased it. Of course, i will keep the other envelope makers also you never know. But purchase it and demo it i would love to hear how you feel about it.

Hi, I need to make a box that uses 8 5/8" square paper. I have to punch at 3 1/4" x 7 1/2". I am wondering how I would be able to punch at 7 1/2 when the envelope punch board only goes to 5".

I just purchased the cream colored 1, 2, 3 punch board. Other than the obvious color difference, do you know if there is any functional difference between it & the black one? It has the extender & does envelopes, bows & boxes. I just don’t want to watch tutorials with the black one, if their function isn’t the same. Thanks! I love your tutorials!!!

You are so good! I have both of these boards, had the regular board first, but struggle to use the 1-2-3 board. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ I’m not giving up yet! Lol I don’t care for the sizes they use for the A2 envelope as it makes an envelope too big in one direction. Do you have better measurements to use? I have just been making A2 envelopes on my scoreboard with a straight flap. That way they fit perfectly. TYFS!

Try 8-1/8 x 8-1/8 with your first score at 3-9/16... it's a bit futzy but is very close to purchased A2

That's the exact reason I bought the 123 punchboard. Love the long arm. I ordered mine from Walmart for $11.99. I ordered one and they sent me one box of 24! LOL. Got a return shipping label to send the rest back, but that would really have been a bargain, right? LOL

But you CAN make boxes with the envelope punch board--they just don't give you the measurements, but I've made several different ones. When I saw the 1-2-3- punchboard, I couldn't figure out why I would want one, but now that I see the fold-out arm for larger envelopes, I am tempted.

Kristina what weight of cardstock or what type of paper do you use for envelopes?

For watercolor paper, I use 90lb. And then I use Strathmore Bristol (not sure in the weight).

Also, if you have good quality patterned paper from scrapbooking, use that with the white side out. Your envelope will be pretty on the inside and easy to address/decorate on the outside.

There are videos out there showing how to make boxes AND bows using the original punch board. I haven't had any problem folding an envelope that is bigger as well, All you need is a start and it folds fine. That being said, had I not gotten the original punch board, I would have preferred the 1-2-3 board but since I DO have it I will not buy something that I can do the same things with it. Redundancy at its finest! I also have the mini punch board but my old eyes can not see the numbers on it in the new colors,UGH! I had to go to their website and find them and write them down. That is a regretted purchase.

I bought 4 of the original punch boards. I kept one, gave the other 3 as gifts. long story short, all the measurements are wrong-none of the finished sizes of envies match up to say A2 etc. So grandkids got mine. They don't care what size anything is.
