I'm on the same boat! Holosun was a massive improvement over the RMR for my astigmatism but all of my slides are RMR cut

@@sneak916 You do realize most sights come in an RMR option right? If that fails you can buy aftermarket slides.

Holosun might own the patent since they have a US based HQ as well and in order to use say patent you have to pay some sort of fee to use it. As if Aimpoint and Trijicon hasn't been using Huanic Emitters already.

But Holosuns are designed and assembled in China by a Chinese company. Yuck!

@@colins5142 I was able to check out the eflx at a class and wasn't really impressed. The student was running the 3moa version and the clarity was no different than a deltapoint / steiner / trijicon. The window was definitely clearer than holosun glass BUT with my astigmatism the holosun is still my go to choice. I have no clue as to why holosun best counters my astigmatism but with their circle dot I get the least amount of dot distortion which better helps with looking through the dot imposed on the target rather than getting distracted by the crazy looking dot.

@@TerminalM193 so the EFLX was equally as clear as an RMR and Deltapoint, and had a nicer window than the Holosun, but.. you aren’t impressed? Hahah, I’m lost on that one. I ended up picking up a 3MOA EFLX for basically the same reasons you listed above.

@@colins5142 Like I said this is primarily due to my astigmatism. I've been through multiple classes and 1 low light course with my cheap holosun 507c and did just fine. I can't stand that they went with delta footprint and I also don't like how wide the window is on the eotech. I wish it was taller rather than wider. I was only able to go through 1 magazine using the optic so I'm sure this could be gotten used to with practice.

@@TerminalM193 I think the reason they went with the deltapoint footprint is because Holosun doesn’t make anything in the deltapoint footprint. And bring that Holosun is making it for EoTech, I get a feeling that was part of the “selling point” to having them build it- so it’s not as direct of a competitor to the optics they already make

They are hard to find right now. As more units enter the market the price should come down.

Take his testing with a grain of salt. If you need an optic to survive repeated bashing off of barricades and what have yous, then go right ahead, but some people don't

@@richardbristol452 it sure is. I just reject the idea that "this optic couldn't be repeatedly bashed and beaten so it's bad." For a duty optic, sure. But on a gun that goes from holster to range and back again, maybe not so. Train accordingly, as it goes

With a topside replaceable battery I'm not too worried about battery life. I totally agree that making windows wider is practically pointless on pistols - no one is losing the dot to the left or right.

@@wisemencompany true just saw its msrp. more affordable than an rmr, but doesn't have that universal convenience of footprint. i'm not all in on closed emitters just yet. probably going to see a big development in how they mount and what they can adapt to in the next year, but for the price and inconvenience, i'll stick with holosun and trijicon for now. great video!

All of the enclosed emitters have a serious housing seal issue. Yes even the P2 has it, not surprisingly since it's housing is made in China.

@@JEJAK5396 why? There is no solid evidence to show it is not reliable, on top of that you can always turn it off if you don't trust it. With poor battery life it's a must. Attempts to justify the lack of this feature are in a realm of mental gymnastics.

Yes and no...almost all the closed emitters seem to have a bit more cramped window. I personally only have closed emitters, but for a competition setup I think this EFLX is nice.

@@boomee78 the gun community loves their hype machines. until a closed emitter comes out that can be adapted to an rmr footprint, i'll stick with holosun and trijicon.
