Arika's name is mentioned at the end of the store page, so they're still involved, even if their Twitter account doesn't corroborate that. Dunno why they didn't tweet about it after the Partner Showcase, but I suppose they have their reasons. I definitely think the Veiled Sea will be its own thing and not the sole focus of the game. The trailer shows glacial and what looks like freshwater environments, and putting those both in the same map would be quite eyebrow-raising. I'm also cautiously optimistic about whatever DLC they put out. It would be pretty sweet if there were expansions that let you return to the Manoa Lai Sea or to any of EO2's environments.

The mystery dude in the trailer that looks sorta like a snailfish is the cutest damned fish thing I've ever seen, we're going to find him, name him, pet him, and take a ridiculous amount of photos while chanting "LITTLE MAN."

When the trailer said that things change every dive, the thought that the landscape itself will change never came up in my mind, it sounded more like the fauna is what will change every dive. So unlike the first two games where you can always find a fish in the same location, instead where you can find fish changes and you have a chance to encounter rare fish. That's my interpretation Edit: just checked the E-Shop again, the specific verbage is "discoveries that changes with each dive" so it does seem like the things that will change is just the things you can discover

Im cautiously excited for this. I was honestly freaking out about it last night but it really looks like its just going to be the veiled sea and basically filling a pokedex of fish... I really hope that's not the case but I imagine the devs dont have much in the way of resources. Im not good at being optimistic but its wild seeing a new endless ocean game pop up like this lol.

The “in game purchases” in the rating probably just means the game tries to sell you Nintendo Switch Online with a little menu if you don’t already have it. Super Mario Bros. Wonder had the same thing, and that game is awesome, so I wouldn’t be too worried.

I think the micro transactions will be for skins and emotes, that would align with their multiplayer focus in the trailer. I am cautiously optimistic for this game, as a fellow lover of the originals!

On a complete random conversation yesterday i brought up endless ocean to a younger friend who just Wasnt old enough to play a video game when the games came out kek. And looked up on youtube to give him some footage of what i was talking about. You cant imagine my surprise and joy seeing not only videos months old, but a new game trailer at that. And thus i found this channel. I'll be looking back at the things posted (i live me some LORE) and wait to dive back when it comes out. Have a good one.

I'd love for the game to either follow up on the story of Blue World (or, as it was called over here, Adventures of the Deep), or at the very least mention it. Not as a direct sequel, but just having characters return and perhaps give some closing resolution on the dad's story. I think a returning (now adult) Oceana could be cool. Maybe her dad too, but just Oceana (who could maybe just tell you about her life every once in a while) would be fine too. A time jump equal to the time between releases would work perfectly for this. If it's just Oceana returning, who tells about the events of the previous game and the aftermath (like her father being relocated and them reuniting, maybe?), then it's also easy to follow for new audiences and not just the OGs. Regarding the changing environments. I hope it's more of a realistic change in the scenery. As a diver, I've done multiple dives at the same locations over the years. Sometimes just days apart. But no 2 dives are the same. Fish (other than certain ones that nest or have a territory) often are in different places. That turtle isn't always swimming at the same area (although it might sleep at the same place). Or, more extreme. That wreck looked very different from year to year. Three months underwater or three years was a huge impact (squid eggs in the mast of a ship is insane, by the way). If they just do these kind of changes, that would be great. Cause it is quite unrealistic to always find those same animals at the same place.

I predict they will expand the aquarium significantly and add the ability to invite other players to your aquarium to show off your creativity. I expect Luminous to be much more "game-ified" to keep up with modern gaming sensibilities. But i hope the singleplayer experience is reminiscent to EO1 and 2, while multiplayer is where the procedural generation is kept. I'm worried that over ambition might spoil the singleplayer experience

I find it kind of crazy that almost none of your predictions happened. I was really excited to see this game add to the series in many of the ways you predicted, but it just doesn’t feel like an endless ocean game to me…

So just for funsies, I'm gonna throw my predictions about some of the ancient creatures that might make it, if you don't mind. Well, I'm fully expecting the three that were in EO2, as two of them are already confirmed. Most likely the dunkleosteos, the archelon (big ass turtle), the megalodon (a properly sized one, not the Thanatos) and the leedsichthys. Hopefully other fan favorites too like the helicoprion, and one of those super prehistoric big ass sea scorpions. Also, I had an idea about how the "the sea changes with every dive" could work, that I personally would love: We've seen in the trailer that the map is a 10x10 square, and maybe, that's the only map in the game, the Veiled Sea, but the randomness comes from it being a whole different biome every time you dive? So you dive in and it's the artic, you dive next and it's a whole lake to justify river fauna, you dive next and it's the prehistoric sea.. Mind you, that would make it annoying if you wish to revisit a especific one and it just refuses to show up.. but yeah, it'll probably be just that fixed map with different biomes all across the squares. Otherwise I truly have no idea what they have done with the procedural design.

make the end game a lot less grindy looking at you endless ocean: blue world 1 million pelagos in order to open Okeanides back up to casual exploration

Honestly I have high hopes, as the game comes closer to release we will probably see more. Diving games are such an underrated sub genre, so even if the game has some issues I think it might still be fun. Though I don’t know if EOL will be able to beat the huge amount of content in E02, especially if they want to focus on micro transactions and multiplayer. We will see though.

I hope there are still rivers and that you can turn off predators chasing you. Ever since a shark I couldn't see chased me in Endless Ocean 2, I didn't boot it up again.

I never played this series before or any underwater game but I am excited and hoping it’s a good game. Gonna wait for the reviews before I purchase the physical.

Sorry to bloat your comment section, but I just wanted to throw out there, that I've been doing some research on the dolphin that appears at 0:51 in the trailer, and I haven't found anything especific. But after some more digging and comparisons, it looks like a killer whale with the color palette swapped, which could be an indication that especial traits for dolphin partners would (unfortunately) be back. While a color swapped killer whale is epic and gorgeous in its own way, I really wanna have a regular and natural killer whale on my side. It could still be a new species though. But if I'm right, it should mean that Arika is bringing back all or most features from the second game.

So, I'm back with a new theory, hope I'm not being annoying, it's just that I enjoyed your video and how passionate you seem to be. So, I don't know if you guys have seen that picture in a retailer store website with a Betta fish among some tangs and other sea fish. Some people are mad because how the hell is the Betta there, must be an oversight and whatnot. Well, in the official trailer, at minute 1:43, there's a clip of what seems to be the abyss floor with some bones, and there's a Blue Marlin or Swordfish or however it's called just swimming by at the forefront. At first I thought that was some mid-depth regular sea floor at night, because of the Blue Marlin, but then I realized something. If you pause that clip as soon as it pops up, you can clearly see that the big fish swimming close-by above it, it's a goblin shark, so that MUST be the abyss. Plus, the red fish that can be seen between the bones could be the red alfonsino things. So, UNLESS that's a rare especies of abyssal Blue Marlin that I don't know about, that's a Blue Marlin on the abyss floor. The picture of the Betta you could argue it's an oversight, but this? This was a deliberately chosen sequence put in the official reveal trailer. That has to be on purpose, that has to be a feature. So here's my theory: We know the Veiled Sea has some sort of randomness to it, where it changes in some way, shape or form everytime we dive in, which could be as a result of some weird magical anomaly thing. WHAT IF, this magical anomaly causes some fish to "get lost", and as a result they show up in biomes where they don't belong. This could perfectly be one of the randomness factors. We know thanks to the trailer that most of the animals actually show up where they belong, which is a smart and logical decision in order to not completely break inmersion, but maybe every time you dive in, there's a small amount of fish (let's say, up to 10) that "get lost" due to the "magical changes" or "dimensional portals" or whatever that take place just in the background. So we could see stuff like, a Beluga in the abyss, a gobling shark in the coral reefs, penguins in the middle of the open sea, a whale shark in the artic, etc.. That honestly would actually be awesome if you ask me, as long as it is, like I said, a very small fixed amount every time. The thing is that, unless there is a freshwater map that works like this, we could see river stuff in the Veiled Sea, but maybe not the other way around. We'll see. This would add an extra tense factor to the abyss exploration. It is already creepy when you know everything that is there, but with this? You'd go there super tense every time. Imagine swimming horizontally ahead in the pitch black and all of a sudden you come across a lost Basking Shark with the mouth wide open just casually coming at you. CHILLS!

They either re-feature Hayley Westenra's music or the nostalgia that players are looking for won't be sensed in the new one.

I would hope that the animals that are a threat would be more realistic. Like the way that the Greenland shark would attack, is not realistic at all.

The problem is that even in the game's eshop description says this: "Take a deep breath and plunge into the Veiled Sea: an unexplored region with discoveries that change with each dive". Which sounds terrifying because of procedural content in this kind of games (also it has adventure in the tags so damn this if it doesn't have story mode or the more rpg-ish elements of EO2). So I think that the veiled sea will be our only explorable area, just like Manurai (it's the name of Manoa Lai in my country, italy idk if it's only here or somewhere else) Sea, but... Maybe it will have some lore implications as to why the location changes every time? I guess we shall wait may and find out, I waited 15 years, what could a few months more do? Edit: to strenghten the argument of Veiled Sea as the only map: in the EO2 trailer, one of the main points was the fact that you could dive all around the world, rather than a single map. Sooooo I'm afraid I'll have to disagree (even if I don't like it)

i want to turn off the Dangerous Creatures mechanic and explore sharks and dangerous animals like you could in Endless Ocean 1 under the excuse in game lore wise of experimental scuba diving equipment

I don't think they would include only the Artic or the Antartic and leave one out as the fauna is vastly different. For example the shark that appears in the Artic map in the second game only lives there, in the Artic waters.

I don't know why but I feel intense fear for diving games , witch is starge I've dived many times and I gew up practically in the sea. Uts just somting about the deep dark abyss I guess

While I also am not a fan of all the very obnoxious misinformation and cheap "scary stories" spawned by the bloop, I will say, if endless ocean is piggybacking off of all that but just to add a couple mysterious mythological creatures, I'm all for turning it into a modern mythos rather than presenting it as a real thing. The bloop story gets passed around so much because it's admittedly pretty interesting, so directing people's attention away from it as a "real cryptid" and more embracing it as a mythological creature is a really fun way to express the mysteriousness of the sea that attracts people to those stories

Am I the only one that thinks the original endless ocean games look much better? Not only the graphics but the overall interface?

I haven't seen anything about having an aquarium, training dolphins & whales, riding the animals, or taking photographs. As these were my favorite parts of the original games, I am a little bit worried that this is just a money grab. Also, it looks as though you cannot communicate with the online players in any way other than doing poses or showing them an animal you found, so I predict there will be a lot of disappointed players who will think there is some way to chat.
