At first when I saw the picture I thought it was an elegant but when I was reading the title I realized it's actually a prehistoric animal

The straight-tusked elephant is more closely related to the African forest elephant.

Hi Spinodude a superbly taylored review of Eofauna's Museum quality figure. If I remember correctly the fossil of this figure was an Old Bull in his 50s from Germany.And the extant African Forest Elephant of the Congo is closer related to the Paleoloxodons then the African Bush Elephants after genetic students. Leave room in your collections for even more Eofauna's Extinct Marvels 😉

Interesting fact, When Asian elephants get older they get these pinkish or beigish colors on their face. They’re called Elephant Freckles, and that’s what I think inspired them to give the model Elephant Freckles.

What an awesome looking Elephant, I am familiar with a lot of big Mammals including Rhinoceroses and Elephants especially with the least common Columbian Mammoth but this animals was way bigger than any Mammoths and as heavy as a Diplodocus.

There is a subspecies of this Elephant and it is Namadicus which lived in India.

My only complaint with this guy is that his one foot looks a bit weird, would have liked a more gradual pick up of the foot. Overall, amazing figure.
