Part two starts in the Scottish borders and concludes at the beginning of the Bealach na ba pass that takes me across to Applecross.
I camp at Loch Achilty just North of Inverness and meet up with some good friends, Dave and Lindsay aka Desmonds Donders.
They have a KZfaq channel: / @desmondsdonders

The ability to travel freely around your country must be such an enjoyable pursuit. You're free of shackles and can wonder about at will in the knowledge you're welcome and safe. It is the existence of the tortured soul that they cannot escape the 4 inner walls of the mind nor over come the egress of self made obstacles.

Great video Sandy. I still travel the 450 miles from my home in Oldham to ride the Bealach-Na-Ba (pass of the cattle). First rode it as a 17 year old on my MZ TS250 Supa 5 on L plates in 1976. It took me forever to get up there on the A roads from north Manchester, but my was it worth it and have done it many times since on various other bikes. I've yet to take my Tiger 800 up there but hoping to do it next May.....Enjoy Applecross. My favourite place on our planet. 73s om

Thanks John, there is always an element or risk and anxiety when undertaking a long trip, but it has to be measured against the benefit of the trip as a whole otherwise we would just stay shut up in our homes!

I had exactly the same issue with WAZE, as soon as I went off course, it refused to re route and went into sulk mode, needing a reboot of my phone, switched to google maps without issue. Good tour, can’t believe you were thinking of taking the Himalayan on such a demanding tour, definitely needed the Strom I think. 😊

Just subscribed as I am interested in motorcycle touring and video recording them myself. I watched your Hardknott pass video to see how it compared to my version and from that I found you to be very interesting to watch and listen to. Enjoying you Scotland tour now 👍 Just a tip if no one else has mentioned, you should only apply the oil to the inside of the chain allowing the centrifugal force to spread it into the rollers, if applied to the outside it is just thrown off.

Hi there. Try using chain lube from the bike shop. It’s sticky and doesn’t fling off as fast/easy. I looked at a v storm about 17 yrs ago in Canada. Nice riding position machine. Good for me as tall and found it comfy. But opted for power and got v max instead. But the v strom is a nice bike 👍🏻. I’ve done bike travels and camps yrs ago in Canada. I know it’s very tiring but satisfying at the same time. Good video.

Well Sandy, I expected to see a lot of beautiful scenery in this video and you definitely did not disappoint. It does look a little rainy, but, with all of the wonderful views that is easy to overlook. As long as you have the proper gear, rain should not deter too much from the enjoyment. I guess that you still have many more miles left to go on this trip and I'll bet that the excitement is still building for you to see what is around the next corner. Thank you sir for sharing another portion of your great adventure with us. I am looking forward to the rest of the journey.

I reckon you might like that bike Sandy. You may even be a bit keen on it . Probably a bit happier with it than the GoPro... You swore at that you bad lad... :D Whats this about 'not liking new things', thus speaks a man who not so long ago had a bash at dangling from a big old tarp with a propeller enhanced lawnmower strapped to his back and went flying all over the West Country ... Likes nothing new ... huh ? You take care . Loving the scenery ......

Epic Sandy, I've driven all around Scotland on family holidays when the kids were young but I've always wanted to tour there on two wheels, the scenery just gets better the further north one travels. Try the Whisky trail through the Cairngorm following the Spey River, from Elgin in the North, magnificent journey, with breweries along the way.

Applecross pass aka Bealach na Ba (cattle pass) takes you up to cloud base, very chilly and bleak on the top with proper switch backs and loose gravel/ grit in places. A steady poise is needed and a careful right hand on the throttle. It was wet when I crossed but still had a great experience. Mr Solar face was in hiding Bry:)

Great vid. It’s amazing how many wonderful places there are up there that you could have filmed. But each episode would be 3 hours. On this segment alone there was: Glen Etive, glen Nevis, Commando Memorial, urquhart castle. Loch Ness, the entire cairngorm range, Inverness. Etc etc etc. I hope this encourages people to get out and see the wonders of Scotland. Can’t wait for part 3

Nice on thank you for taking me along. I know what you mean about doing something new it takes you out of your comfort zone but latter on when you look back on it it seems to make a greater impression on the memory is suppose because it was something different. Ages since i have been up that way as a child back in the 70s my family holidayed up near Fort William at a place called Loch Eile it was my first holiday and the scenery took my breath away.
