In this episode today, I will take you to the most unknown, most offbeat place of Ladakh which is not yet much explored by many travelers or bikers. Hardly a handful of people may have done this route and I am lucky to do this second time now after my first-ever exploration of this route in the 2013 Offbeat Ladakh trip...
I will start by sharing my experience of staying in Hanle this time, about the health issues going on the trip with me, and what can you expect at Hanle observatory tour.
Then we take this much-desolated offroading trip to the two unknown lakes of Ladakh.
The road conditions from Hanle to these unknown, offbeat lakes of Ladakh which are known by the names of Ryul Tso (Kyon Tso 1) and Chiling Tso (Kyon Tso 2) are very adventurous, so stay tuned in the video till the end.

Bhai ye aapne sahi kaha.. hum kaafi logon se mile wahan.. mostly Jhaarkhand se log the ye sab.. ek dum salute in sabhi logon ko jo in extremely harsh situations mein ye kaam kar rahe hain.. Bhai fauna mein to yaahan par ek black cat type ka animal hai main naam bhul gaya uska vo in lakes k paas paaya jaata hai.. baaki aap yahan Kiangs, Himalayan foxes spot kar sakte ho.. Flora mein to bas marshes hi the aur grasslands thoda bahut jo baaki Ladakh mein milta hai..

मैं जुलाई 2023 में इस रूट पट था,हनले से ही मौसम बहुत खराब हो गया था, रयूल लेक तक पहुँचते पहुँचते लगातार बारिश होने लगी थी,ठंढ बहुत बढ़ गयी थी। बड़ी मुश्किल से उन खतरनाक रास्तों को पार कर के चुमुर पहुँचा था,जहाँ से सो मोरीरि तक बढ़िया रोड मिला। थ्रिलिंग एक्सपीरियंस था वो, बहुत बहुत शुक्रिया आपका,सब याद दिला दिया आपने😊😊

Rakesh bhai.. I can imagine kis tarah ki roads rahi hongi bhai baarish mein too... raaste to sahi mein bahut kharaab the pura chumur tak bhai.. aisa lag raha tha kahaan chaddhha di gaadi humnein.. maine jab 2013 mein ye route kiya that tab ye itna kharaab nahin tha.. ab construction ki wajah se jyada ho gaya hai..

Dheeraj, like you, I live overseas and love travelling through India - recently bought a bike in India and planning some trips in the coming years. And I couldn't agree more what you said about the lack of peace and quiet in some of these places. I was in Ladakh in June 23 and felt every man and their dog was in Ladakh. It used to be a place for the adventure seekers and those who were passionate... now, its an insta worthy location that everyone is getting to. I reminisce about my first trip in 2009 and then in 2015. Was a very different world back then.

I know brother.. those days of 2008-2009 travel now is like a different age or world.. Even between 2009 to 2015 a lot changed but it is another world now.. hence on this trip, I traveled to something raw and untouched to some extent.. both Teri village experience and this route experience helped a lot to get something out of this trip… We can now only go thru the photos of those early year trips when the world of India Mike and BCMT or Team BHP existed for planning to such remote places 😀

Beauty of Hanle is the same, but the essence this time was different with changing developments as far as accommodation and noisy groups are concerned. A point well understood. People just don't understand the value of social etiquette and peaceful existence. Meaning of enjoyment is noise. They are everywhere, and they cause nuisance to others with their rants. That's the modern trend. Can't help it. You have to try and develop a deaf ear.😔 3:20 Informative tour of Hanle Observatory. Quite some tough offroading experience in between! An amazing video yet again, Dheeraj bhai. Its so nice to see hanle again. I visited this place in January 2024. It was the best experience. There were literally no tourists besides us. We stayed at Sonam Guesthouse, loved the experience, especially because there are no one else besides us. 🙂

Very informative videos. Planning to do Leh - Hanle - Tso moriri next week. Travelling in a 4X4 but no second vehicle. Is that a decent condition/populated stretch?

Leh to Hanle to Tso Moriri is in all good condition provided you follow the route like Leh to Chumathang to Mahe to Nyoma to Loma to Hanle Hanle to Loma to Nyoma to Mahe to Tso Moriri The route we did in the video above after Hanle you can see is in bad shape mostly. 4x4 will help of course and in case you are used to driving in such bad roads then you will need to take a call of taking the risk along travel on that route or not. Some sections I am sure would have been made better but first 80 km I do not see majority work may still take some time.

@@discoverwithdheeraj thanks for the quick reply. From Tso Moriri, we'll exit towards Manali. Mahe-Puga-Meroo route also good I hope? Or would you suggest we go further north towards Leh to catch NH3 back to Manalinear Upshi (quite a bit of extra driving)?

You can exit via Pugga - Tso Kar route. that is in decent condition now. Also, Mahe will not come when you start from Tso Moriri, at Sumdo village you take left from the road to go towards Tso Kar

Well around end of May first week of June predictably Manali Leh Highway Thoda safe/stable ho jaata hai in general.. Srinagar leh road around May starting mein stable ho jaata hai one way traffic k liye in general

However, I was indeed hit by AMS after I got hit with stomach bug. I was able to manage it well before this day.. this is day where it got bad for me! I feel like more due to antibiotics I took

Not much rain in July, Ladakh is rain shadow region and less rains reaches there but main challenge is rains in lower hills in monsoon time which starts July end and August

Vibhu bhai.. 20 km Tso Moriri se pehle ka raasta kaafi kharaab tha.. abhi aagay series mein dikhaunga aapko isi.. may be shayad agle ya us se agle episode mein.. baaki road bana hai.. but vo 20 km kaafi kharab toota hua tha.. I mean khatarnaak nahin tha but toota gadde the pure mein.. car mein jump kar kar k sar dard ho gaya :D
