The Odisea 48 from Odisea Catamarans has just started to get built in Vietnam. The design is complete, the paperwork has been done and now the factory has had 4 days to start the job and they are welding like madmen. Finally the wait is over, the Elcano World Challenge will begin in 2024 people.

Good luck Peter with the electric motor supplier. If you’re in discussion with Oceanvolt you would imagine they’d love the opportunity to move on from their previous failed sponsorship and be associated with a more determined and hopefully successful Elcano Challenge. It’s all good and well to be aligned with the hipster KZfaqrs, but nothing beats the publicity that would result from being the chosen electric engine on a world wide attention grabbing successful carbon-free circumnavigation. It’s a no brainer.
