Season 2, episode 8 is here. Dominic is back! He, Connor, and Erica talk with the legendary Michael Dorn, known for playing the original Prune Juice Warrior, WORF on Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, TNG movies and more.
This is a special episode because we are releasing a much longer version of the conversation so that everyone can see what our Patreon members get. Patreon members also get ad-free viewing.
In this conversation, we learn about Michael's childhood, his time in a rock band. Why and how he got into "the business", why he almost walked away from Star Trek and why he stayed. He flies jets (and normal planes), rides motorcycles, and is vegan. Why is he vegan? Prostates. Wash is quiet today. Erica gets some fan questions in, Connor, Dominic, and Michael play for Patreon Member Jill Sheets in this week’s Star Trek Trivia, and Michael plays “Stuck on a Deserted Island with Connor Trinneer.” It's another awesome deep dive episode! Today is a good day to chat.
The modestly more full conversation is available for our amazing Patreon Members.

The worf is in trouble episode, and the warf was right and still got fussed at by his CO episode, the why are you in this meeting? worf episodes (classic TNG), are all klingon families that overbearing? Michael Dorn really is a remarkable person. Growing up with STTNG, I can‘t imagine the crew without Worf, the fearless Klingon who seeks and defines his place between two worlds, two cultures. Since I watched the TV show in German when I was a kid, I only got to hear his real voice 10 years later, rewatching every episode on DVD. Watching this interview another 15 years later, I feel that I am finally getting to know the actor better. What a joy!thanks to the interview team - and to Michael for being „part of my life“ since childhood.

That relationship found redemption in DS9, and while Alexander was perceived as the ships fool aboard that bird of prey, he proved himself as a brave and intellectual member of the team. Phenomenal time with Michael Dorn! It's great listening to his stories and all of his interests (he's been a welcome guest at our loal Veg/Vegan Fest in Detroit and his story on why/how he became vegan is a great listen!) Thanks so much @ShuttlepodShow for this and the great chat with over 1000 people watching! Also, it was great having Dom back in the chair and glad he's doing much better! ❤💛💙🤓🖖🏾

My late husband was one year older than Michael Dorn and at the end of his life when he was terribly ill loved to watch TNG and his favorite character was Worf. Coincidentally, my husband grew up in Glendale California, which basically neighbors Pasadena. His family had a home right up next to Brand Park. My husband was really into R&B and rock… Big surprise for that era. He even got to see his idol, Jimi Hendrix, twice in concert.

@@marsrideroneofficial I’m sorry that you’re facing the end of your life. Watching my husband die slowly over a nine year period Was so hard. We read a lot of books together during that time, too. He especially enjoyed the Aubrey-Maturin series (i.e,: Master and Commander) by Patrick O'Brian and the “All creatures great and small” by pen name Author James Harriet. My husband was a sincere Christian too, and through it all it was Christ sustained us. Qapla and God bless you, too!

@@ibosquez5238 Supposedly...he got jumped by some Ferengi hooligan street urchins outside the pub up to no-good tom-foolery. They were giving him body shots rapid fire (they might be short, but they are fast and stout with them hamhocks), and so the story goes, his ribs got reconfabulated a bit, but he popped up like Dracula out of a coffin swinging mean left hooks, so they skedaddled out of there. Also, how would I know what happened to him? Could be it was a bog-standard ladder accident while hanging a warp core or extra hull plating in the bathroom. It happens. One day, you are out reconfiguring the phaser array on passing space rocks, the next... you twist your ankle hopping out a Jeffries Tube. It's not always sunshine and roses, you know. Whatever happened to Ye Olde Dom (Mr. Dominic), I know not. He's back in action, firing on all warp cylinders, so that is all that matters. To me at any rate. If you want, I will order some titanium battleship siding and we can tape him up in it so none of this ever happens again. I reckon he might find it a bit weird when we show up with a dumptruck full of sheet metal and a crate of duct tape, so prepare to flee from him calling the cops on us. Or Dracula Kung -Fu Coffin-Popping us with those left hooks. I did this entire comment for one reason...I could. I regret none of it.
