Thank you for taking me to Japan. In 1976 my husband and I worked on a bulk ship with a Japanese woman and her husband and many others. Later After they had got children, she visited her family outside Tokyo. When she got home her parents had to repair all their walls. Small fingers had punktured the paper to see into the next room.

It’s great to see you both and all the beautiful gifts and purchases. I love Japan and have been there four times (so far)! I have also been nipped in the bum by the Nara deer. When we were leaving the park we passed a young woman wearing very short white shorts and carrying a packets of the deer cookies. I thought oh boy! She might be in trouble!!!!!😮🦌🦌🦌😮. Your description of your travels brings back many wonderful memories of my visits. Time to return!

Oh that deer story had me laughing! Did you know there is this Island in Japan where there also deers. I believe it was close to Hiroshima. It also had a very big wooden spoon, that was impressive. It also had some places to swim and a Hello Kitty store. And those deers where so cute, but also would try to eat everything. I had a wonderfull day there!

I'm really savoring this episode by watching it in "installments"! thank you for bringing me/us on this trip. I've never been to Japan and would love to go one day. The gifts and beautiful wrapping reminded me of an art journal/book I made for my niece last year (2022)... I had bought some Japanese fabric and asked the shop (Kimonomomo) owner to send me materials she no longer needed, if she had any, so I could include in my niece's book. So she sent me a gorgeous wrapping paper that she had received in Japan. It took me forever to find the pattern repeat of that paper... gorgeous! I followed Kate's (Last Homely House) tutorial on bookbinding and used the wrapping paper in the cover of my niece's art journal! I also had in the back of my mind your art journals as inspiration 🥰 Thank you

I used to make wonderful rugs for doll houses using the small punch needle! Lots of fun! Arne, the doll dress you are making is gorgeous! The woman who is using the sewing needles to knit/cro her flowers is amazing! When I made Barbie doll clothes I knit some things with toothpicks so they would have the right proportions! I love making small things and I think you do too, Arne! Thanks for the great podcasts, Arne and Carlos, I so enjoy them. I am glad to hear your Mom is doing a little better, Carlos. Hugs to you both! ❤

Your discussion about deer reminded me of my travels in The East 50 years ago. There is a similar park in Kyoto where I got the biscuits and fed the deer. Tokyo was extremely expensive for a college graduate. Kyoto was easier and I fell in love with the hills, children walking in twos all in the same uniform, and glorious sunsets. I have many treasures and memories from them. Thank you. ❤

Arne and Carlos I lived in Japan in 1956 to 1958. I was 10-12. I loved to collect coloring books that came in sheets of drawing in envelopes. They were Japanese doll type drawings. Look for they in the old books. You would love them. Buy yourselves the famous Kokeshi wooden dolls. The Kokeshi dolls I loved were palm sized. Enjoy we had a sailboat built there and named it Sayonara. Japan is truly magical. Sayonara.😊
