This week we are joined by one of our favorite guests, Dr. Mike Chamberlain of UGA to talk about his latest study regarding gobbler harvest. Mike has been managing a study of the largest group of radio collared gobblers ever for a scientific study. Mike carefully explains the data so that even Dudley can understand it. If you’re concerned about turkeys and considering adjusting harvest totals on a struggling property, you need to listen to this one. Since I have listened to the Mossy Oak Game Keepers Podcast. Since the decline of wild turkey started in Missouri and I started howling at the moon for people to listen. This is by far the best podcast and information ever provided to the public. Wish every landowner, turkey hunter and game and fish department would listen to this show!!!!! Thank you!

I've had days where I didn't expect to see anything let alone kill anything but the opposite happens. Worked late one night so only had an hour and a half of daylight but ended up killing the biggest buck of my life that night! Dr. Mike is so fun to listen to, whether it's knowledge on animals or stories from hunting!

Just on our 126 acres that we run cams on year round and manage the habit on I can assure people birds that are born there stay there and if you don't shoot them they will be there next year. It amazes me how I can keep track of the Jake groups as they age and stay together. Four Jake's this year means four 2 year old loud mouths next year. No magically appearing birds. I watch numbers very closely and harvest accordingly. I just wish the neighbor though the same way. They killed the mature bird population down to one last season.
