The double shrink wrap turned out great. Maybe in a future video you could explain the marine electronics in greater detail on the water. Thanks Captain Joe, another great video!

If you solder the fittings by filling the hole,then put wire in it will finish it very nicely

Thanks for another great video Captain Joe! I hope you have stock in Fein since I just ordered one of their top-of-the-line multi-tools after your recommendation in this video. 😂 I have a DeWalt jigswaw and Rotozip cutting tool, but I can see how the Fein will be better for cutting out holes for displays and such in the console. Thanks also for mentioning the GRID 20 from Garmin. I bought one a month or so ago after watching this video the first time around. I discovered that one GRID 20 can control multiple displays. I don't have room for two GRID 20s on my console so will switch back and forth between the GPSMAP 8610xsv and GPSMAP 943xsv displays as needed. Perhaps I can recommend a tool to you. I recently upgraded from a single battery to dual batteries on my Robalo so had to run a 2AWG cable from the rear to the console, and did a lot of other wiring with more to do. I bought a TEMCo hydraulic crimping kit and it does such a great job of attaching terminals to cables and wires. Just a thought. Keep up the great work! 😊

Just binged watched your videos of this boat starting from how to gelcoat and y’all installing the tub rails etc, now I’ve made it to this video and I’m watching it now and it’s super cool to see the passion you and marky mark have for this boat and this work. I’m 22 years old and have just started my boat building/ rebuilding journey now on my 4th boat, it’s a Shallow Sport with a aluminum raised console with a Yamaha 150 TRP. Fixing to pull all the wiring out of the console and pull the aluminum off to powder coat and then regelcoat the whole deck so I’m excited to use your tips and tricks and become better at this! Keep up the videos!

Overall great job excellent craftsmanship Interesting point regarding the manual controls for the garmin units I'm sure you know the Simrad's have both touch screen and manual controls in a combined product I do agree that the Garmin support is better than Simrad Would have been nice to have Yamaha command link Digital gauges/engine monitoring Also newer push button switches

I keep wondering and this may seem a silly question but it’s been bugging me! How do you stop water from tracking down alongside screws/bolts in fixtures? For example you apply sealant around the base of a cleat for example but then what’s to stop water tracking down the actual screw?
@FishBumpTV
@FishBumpTV 2 ай бұрын
I also apply sealant into or over the screw holes, and apply some to the actual threads on the scew itself before running it in. Then just clean up any excess sealant that squeezes out. With bolts I always apply a bead of sealant under the shoulder of the bolt, or the washer on the bolt before running it in, then more sealant around the bolt threads on the other side before installing the washer and nut. You should get squeeze out around the bolt when you tighten it up. Then clean up, or tool the excess sealant that has squeezed out. I have a video on the channel showing this process. I believe it is titled how to seal and waterproof holes in plywood. I hope this helps, and thanks for watching!

What's the beam and LOA on it? Deadrise? Looks like it has turned out nice.
@FishBumpTV
@FishBumpTV 9 ай бұрын
The beam is 9,6 midship, tapering to 8,6 at the transom. LOA down the centerline is 29 feet. The boat has a variable deadrise. with a 17.5 degree average at the transom. 160 gallons of fuel capacity and 30 gallons of fresh water. I will have top speed run and boat tour video coming out soon. Thanks for watching!

Love watching you videos! Curious if you through bolt all the hose clamps and bus bars, etc. inside your console and you can see the backside of the fasteners on the outside of the console? Or are you somehow concealing those fasteners? Working on a 14’ Livingston and I’ve learned so much from your videos
@FishBumpTV
@FishBumpTV 11 ай бұрын
Thanks so much, Glad you are enjoying the content! That's a good question, We have pieces of 3/4 inch thick Coosa board glassed into the areas in the console where we are running screws in. You could also use 3/4-inch plywood to create a hardpoint for your fasteners. We are also using the bolts that are holding the rod holders on for some of the clamps. We did thru bolt the battery charger to the console side because it is very heavy and quite important. Hope that answers your question. Thanks again for watching, and good luck with your project!

Do you have any plans of pulling more hulls from your mold?
@FishBumpTV
@FishBumpTV 10 ай бұрын
Building more hulls is a real possibility, but nothing definite planned at this time. I would also consider selling the molds or partnering with someone to build more. With the response the boat is getting , and its overall performance I do feel like there is a real market for this boat. Thanks for watching and commenting!

I would be very interested in a bare hull without any stringers if you decide to pop more out. Would love to come up for a charter trip and see it in person. @@FishBumpTV

Hey capt. Have you every tried a hydraulic crimper? Works well for some of the thicker wires if your not using it already. Harbor freight has a good one.
