Hi and welcome to my channel,
In this video I will be removing the underseal from my e30 touring.
Apologies in advance as there are quite a few clips missing at the start of the video, however everything is covered and time coded!
This took me around 3 months to complete, however I would only work on the car for around 2 hours in the evening due to the excessive noise.
I used just the one saw blade for the multitool which i sharpened regularly, and the multi tool held up for the whole task.
I also used around 6 wire wheels on the grinder, it had a bearing change before i started the task as it was on the way out!
Time Codes:
0:00 - Intro
0:43 - Roll-Over Jig
1:07 - Tools to be used

Wouldn't it have been more convenient to send the shell at a sandblasting facility? You did an insane amount of grinding with a wire wheel. Good job
@BadE30
@BadE30 2 жыл бұрын
I mainly used the oscillating scraper to take the bulk off, then wire wheeled the last few bits. I didn’t go with blasting as it may not look it but the body paint was only months old from when the car came off the road, as i never planned to take the resto this far! Thanks man! I prefered the multi tool process as it is much cleaner than with a heat gun as the underseal just peels off rather than melts off. The whole job went very well, I recommend to do it in the summer as the underseal is much softer, I learnt this right at the end of the task..
