Next time out the steering rack bolts from top of the car to the bottom. In case the nut is loosing, the bolt will stay in place, and you can feel it, now if the nut come loose, the bolt will fall to the ground
@BadE3012 күн бұрын
@@dhstube for the usual job this is how I do it, however you’re unable to remove the bolt if it is upright due to the engine being in the way. So the correct way is to have them bolt head down, this is also how it is from factory!

And how much did you pay for pistons
@anthonymason132716 күн бұрын
Hi mate where did you get the pistons from I need to get a set for my m5
@BadE3016 күн бұрын
They’re CP-Carrillo custom size and CR pistons from VAC Motorsports in the USA. Were around £1200 IIRC
@shyamkorotania948017 күн бұрын
Did you get the cylinders bored before you honed them ???
@BadE3016 күн бұрын
This honing was to remove any scoring before measuring. Once honed clean, the bores were way out of spec, currently with a machinist who is reboring for custom over sized pistons

Hello Bad e30, Really nice work and video, couldn't hope for better. I have only one issue, on one of the fuel tank protection plate, I broke one nut because of the rust. Do you know if the thread where you screw the nut is part of the frame or is removable?
@ImperatorMundi1Ай бұрын
Hi. I'm new to lathes. Does the play you mention matter in cutting threads? A friend of mine would sell me his Myford ML7 with gearbox and few accessories. Problem is, that I'm planing to take this lathe to Poland and we use metric while this lathe is in imperial units. Do you think I should get ML7 for £800 with chuck and cutting tools or this one from eBay without accessories for £650 and have preferable metric units. Or should I just stick to tap dies for the threads on ML7. Your expertise is much welcome.

Doesnt the primer need sanding? Just curios, usually people sand quickly over it after applying it. Nice work otherwise, really nice, you sure roof doesnt have any bubbling around it of around sunroof? Better do it once and propely and ik you put sound deading in already put did you let it cure for like a week atleast?
@BadE30Ай бұрын
Primer was etched before paint, no rust around the sunroof and paint cured for a week before sound deadening!
