You can think that the title of this video is a little bit pretentious, and maybe you are right but, as far as I know, it's acurate.
Before I made the decision of getting head on into the massive rabbit hole that is designing and making this abomination, I investigated a lot to see if something similar can be bought somewhere and I couldn't find anything that has all the features I want in this device: being compact and portable, nice looking, bedroom friendly and good sounding.
The closest things I found are some really DIY projects that fall into two main categories: A) Some sort of spinning bucket or cup duct taped into a boombox or B) a Leslie replica made using the same materials and design of the original, and roughly of the same size.
Don't get me wrong, some of these projects are really awesome and are full of skill and talent but I wanted to make something really different, something that breaks with all the preconcepts of a rotary speaker in terms of size, materials and design and doesn't try to be just a scaled down Leslie replica.

Those grills are an amazing success. I envy your first layers - particularly when you did the 4 grills across the whole bed. Brilliant! :-)

Thanks! I'm super happy with them - and a little bit surprised they came out so great in the first try lol - that poor little Ender 3 is working really hard and brilliantly for being such a basic printer. Totally love it

Why not just make frames you can sandwich grill cloth between?

I considered something similar but ended up with this solution since it's easier to make. These grids come out from the printer ready to install so the assembly is also a lot faster. Also I wanted an open design to not cover the rotor entirely since I think it's a really nice touch to watch it spin
