Bumla pass is 37 km away from Tawang, On the day when you decide to travel to Bumla pass - you should start your day early by 7 am, so you can visit the Bumla pass and other lakes that come on the way.
Apart from Bumla pass, you will also see Madhuri lake, new name - Sangestar lake Tawang, PT TSO lake and many other lakes that come on the route to Bumla pass.
This is a highly sensitive area. because of India - China border, due to this there are restrictions of time when you can enter this area and the time by when you need to exit this area.
We did this journey on Thar vehicle that we hired at Tawang.
Driver - Tenzing - 8257817029.
Date of journey - 15th April 2022.
Following are the details of this tour from Tawang to Bumla and back.
Homestay -where we stayed at Tawang.
Sonam Tsomu Homestay - 9436091899
Other homestay details, i have not visited the below homestays but got these references from my homestay owner.
Roghi Heights
Owner: Ganga Ram - 8894442671
Potyan Homestays
Owner: Arvind - 9418629678
Vijay Kumar Homestay
9418628282
Aniket Negi Homestay
9459976137, 9459372137
Panga Teng Tso Lake - This was our first halt point on the way to Bumla - located 14 km from Tawang.
Tessri Udassi Guru Nanak Dev Ji (Guruduwara) - We visited this Gurudwara on our way to Bumla pass.
Our taxi driver suggested that we should first visit Shungaster lake(Madhuri lake) then go to Bumla.
Shungatser Lake - It is located 36 km from Tawang. This lake is also known as Madhuri Lake or Madhuri Point.
We continued our journey to bumla pass and in between we saw snow fall and mountains covered with snow which was beyond words.
Photography and videography is not allowed at Bumla pass.
Gyangong Ani Gompa - This is a 500 year old Gompa managed and run by nuns, this is a nunnery. We were told that this is the oldest monastery of Tawang region.
Hope you liked to watch this episode on the Tawang tour.
In the next episode you will see our journey to Holy waterfall - Chumi Gyatase.

Northeast was never cared for years by previous governments but now things are changing its good see this, they are one of the hardworking, modest and kind people. Govt must look into these area more effectively as not only these area gives India edge strategically but by getting more people who are more hardworking and dedicated than other parts of our country. Love from Uttrakhand ❤️

Serenity everywhere with nature at its best is what our Arunachal Pradesh is. Harish ji guiding us with his unique approach, mingling with locals and introducing local food is indeed a delight. The lakes, Gurudwara, langar, monasteries and prayer flags are truly Divine.

Bumla is a last border point and snow bound as seen. Great tributes to our soldiers doing tough duties 24/7.The journey enroute had a Gurudwara and so many small or big lakes surrounding clouds and hills. It’s amazing and different hilly terrain. Thanks Harish ji for this vlog on Arunachal.

Dear Harish Sir, me n my family have been watching your each n every episode since last two years. I am grateful to you that through you I have been able to visit so many places virtually, which I always wanted to since long. Thing I love about your AP visit the most is to see most of the people speaking in Hindi. I had not imagined it. Actually I have stayed in china for almost two decades. Can see many things n culture of North East, closely related to Chinese culture. In one episode when you were amazed to see women working everywhere, reminded me my first year in China. I was so happy to see women working everywhere... in each n every field. Something I couldn't imagine that time in India. Also in China too groom has to give cash or something else to bride's parents, very opposite to our dowry culture. felt very happy to visit AP virtually n changing dynamics of it every few kilometres. Thank you very much Sir🙏🙏

Thanks Harish ji, Reminds me of my Tawang visit on December 2021...1 feet snow at Bomdila, Dirang was chilly, Dirang to Tawang 120 km was full snow- 4 feet snow at Sela pass and Jaswanthgarh, all lakes and waterfalls frozen, 2 feet snow at Jung and Nuranag falls(not frozen completely), 2 feet snow at Tawang town...couldn’t get permission to visit Tsangetsar Lake and Bumla pass due to very heavy snowfall and road blockade(we heard it snowed 6-7 feet there)...everything was white and foggy...what a sight to remember..

@@visa2explore I'm a local resident of Tezpur, Assam..we can go to Bomdila (5 hours from Tezpur)/Tawang (12 hours from Tezpur) whenever we feel like..me and my family stayed at our family friends house, which are not hotels/home stay...we traveled locally by their car...they prepared our ILP..

@@visa2explore few information about Tawang... 1. For budget travellers, who want to do only Tawang within 2-3 days tight schedule, shared cab is available to and from Tezpur to Tawang for Rs. 1500-1800 per person (excluding ILP and fooding on the way)... 2 . Tourist should definitely check weather predictions during winter as army people do not allow people to cross Sela Pass and reach Tawang during very heavy snowfall..also Bumla pass is often closed during winter after heavy snow...so tourist coming from far away have to return from Bomdila without visiting Tawang, so trip gets ruined.. 3. Torgya festival during January and Tawang festival during October are good times to see local performances and local traditions.. Thank you
