We had a lovely time in Ireland. It was a 50-50 shout that we would go up the side of Wales or Ireland and I think we’re really pleased that we chose the Irish side. Will be interesting to see what we do on the way down.

Thanks for keeping the updates going. Good mix of local interest and sailing tips, seems like Coric is behaving just as you wanted?

Thank you Brian. Yes, we are absolutely delighted with how well the boat has been behaving. It is taking a little bit of time to get used to “slimmed down living” on the boat. Really delighted that the updates and the snippets are useful.

Nice to see the use of mils at sea. I used that method a lot when I was in the armed forces. Not only for rough order of magnitude for heights but for azimuth (6400 mils = 360 deg). The instructor even insisted on "cutting the mil in four pieces" for better accuracy !!! I watched the coronation on TV like many Frenchies, looks a bit paradoxical but it's a proof of being open minded I guess 😇 Fair winds

Thanks for this, I am more used to using degrees and minutes. There are some useful rules of thumb about length subtending angles at certain ranges. I wasn’t sure if I should convert the mills to degrees / mins and stick to my old rules for pick up the new metric, one. I’m being open minded about this :-)

Morning Elizabeth & John, I popped into Glenarm after dropping the kids to school and have left a bag of local goodies for you in the Harbour Masters office - Billy/Davy have it and it’s in a purple bag in the office. Sorry to have missed you, Coric is an absolutely beautiful boat. Have a safe onward journey. Fair winds. S.

Oh blimey, that’s very kind. We were away from the boat with friends overnight and then enjoyed visiting Belfast. We won’t be departing until at least midday tomorrow. If you were passing again, it would be great to say hi.

@@CoricContessa32 You are most welcome. Just a little token of appreciation for sharing your refit and sailing journey. Not sure if I’ll make it down to see you off but have a great onward adventure and safe passage. Stephen.

Very sorry to have missed you. I think we’re going to leave as the windows due to die a little bit later this afternoon. Maybe on the way back down :-)

@@CoricContessa32 Hello, sorry I’m only seeing this now. I see you’ve left and are heading south. I’m in Red Bay at the minute and believe I see you passing by in a group of yachts. Where next? Maybe next time. S.
