▶️Can bad battery cause EPC light?
If the new battery dies, your alternator is gone. ... Ive had cars come in with the epc light on, and a low battery =. Once we changed the battery and cleared the code it never came back. So a low battery can cause your epc light to come on.
▶️How do I fix my EPC?
To fix your EPC light, you need to fix whatever problem is causing it to light up. Problems that could be causing the EPC light to turn on include issues with your mass air flow sensor, your brake light switch, your engine speed sensor, and the throttle body.
▶️EPC Car Warning Light
Your Volkswagen should have enough power to drive to a car dealership or repair shop, but it should not be driven anywhere else. Your vehicle's throttle may be limited in power as a built-in mechanism to protect the engine.
▶️What is EPC light on VW Polo?
The EPC warning light is one of several important dashboard warning lights that can be found on modern Volkswagen vehicles. EPC stands for Electric Power Control, and the light lets you know there is an issue with the throttle system or sensors in your vehicle.
▶️How do I reset my VW warning light?
Turn ignition to off position. Press and hold the Trip reset button. Release the Trip Reset button when it says “OIL” or “INSP”
How to Reset Your VW Service Light by Model Year
1. Turn your key into the on position.
2. Select the Settings menu.
3. Select the Service submenu.
4. Select Reset option.
5. Press OK.
6. Press OK again to confirm.

I did some research and discovered that you can reset the EPC Light and the vehicle should then start. That if it does not start change the throttle pedal position sensor which is attached to the foot pedal inside the vehicle. If the vehicle still doesn't start to seak out a repair shop that is certified to work on the issue to get vehicle back running to start.

My EPC light came on and I experiences an immediate loss of power. Managed to limp home couldnt really drive faster than 80kms. Did some research and first thing i checked was the petrol cap. It was loose, more than likely not tightened by the petrol attendant, i made sure it was fitted properly and tightened it. No issues thereafter.

So basically the epc light is on because there's a problem with one of many engine sensors and to get the light to turn off I have to fix the problem, ok thank you so much for this video, it was very helpful. In my case it was the brake pedal switch sensor (Golf IV, 2001 vintage). No power loss, no motor noise, no check engine light, no danger of the car going suddenly into limp mode. Replacement cost (part), less then $10. Problem, you must first know what it is. Snags: the (low grade) OBD2 scanner did not show any error code, nothing whatsoever. All three brake lights worked perfectly. So called redundancy switches (4 pronged) make the diagnosis so much harder. The first eBay replacement switch, bought from fowlleros, allegedly brand-new, was also defective. That did throw me. (I then falsely suspected the carburetor). There seems to be no easy volt/ohm-meter check to test sensor health. It would be simple enough if there were only two separate circuits, sensor depressed, contact closed. Distinct values for the good and bad sensor but nothing clearcut (exceeded tolerance limits?)

I actually think it has something to do with the throttle or throttle body. The lack of acceleration is the signal that the car is trying to tell you something is wrong. My mother’s EPC light came on and that was her problem.

I have a 2016 VW jetta and my light started to come on while driving but I was still able to drive normal with no issues. When I turn the car off then back on it goes off. @@pioneerkc5860 I haven’t taken I to get serviced yet but I realize that was happening whenever the oil is low and I’m constantly driving on low oil. Now I just been the oil at a good level. Basically something is wrong that’s causing my oil to burn out faster than it should. I read it could be a worn out piston ring , valve stems or something else . I don’t have any oil leaks in my garage but it would need oil after the 3rd week of a new oil change be

Nah there is a problem on the way I have an Audi A6 I had that problem for about 4 months it came on every other month and yesterday it came on and didn’t go off and it made my car shake aggressively while driving, I pulled over twice and it came back on in less than 30 seconds. go get it fixed or start saving up to get it fixed

I’ve got a 2012 vw Tiguan, plugs & coils have been replaced, but have noticed when I stretch 3 or 4th gear with full throttle acceleration engine & EBC LIght comes on & car goes in limp mode . 12 Passat. The check engine light blinks 1st when at idle for more than a minute. Then if the rpm's don't get up, the epc light comes on. Limp mode as well. Turn it off, and back on and all is well until you let sit at low idle. I've changed all plugs and coilpacks because the code was 2 cylinders were misfiring. Not sure where to go next? I usually try not to let it sit at idle and it's fine? Maybe let it go to epc light and then see if a code comes up in real time?

I recently put too much acceleration while reversing and accidentally reverse drift/flicked my 2WD Volkswagen. Would this cause any damage? I ask because when accelerating, the car randomly shifts too high for the engine to catch up so the car lurches forward. I also switched it into S (sport) mode, and when accelerating, it lurched forward a significant amount and the EPC light came on. I pulled over and turned the car off, and then back on after a few minutes and the light went away? Should I be concerned?

Hello. The EPC light came on in my 09 Touareg 4.2 while driving on the freeway. I was able to get home in a limp mode. When I scanned with VCDS it showed 2 cylinders disabled ( assuming for the limp mode) , it showed random misfire, and anABS memory trouble code. I went ahead and replaced the ABS module and re programmed it base in the old one's code. I cleared all the codes, but my car won't even crank over. My friend suggested replacing the starter, the symptoms indicating that as a possible cause, but even after replacing the starter it does the same. Any suggestions? Thank you

Mine came on after taking fuses out to check for a blown one. All we did was take them out, look at them, and put them back in and now the epc light is on.

I’ve had this light on for the past 4 months, no other lights or symptoms, and no codes read. Any advice on what could be causing it? I hardly have time to take it to a shop/dealer but it’s on my list to have done. I’m an over the road truck driver so I’m hardly even home to get it diagnosed. 2015 A4 2.0 Quattro with almost 50,000 miles.

My epc light flashes near like 3rd gear then the check engine light comes up. When I scanned the lights, a p0341 came up as a camshaft sensor. So then I replaced it and the light came back on. There seems to be a slight noise. Can’t figure out what’s wrong. Someone help please!

I am.missing intake hose in my 2007 audi a3. I was just running car aboout 140mph for 20 miles in 105 degree heat. It shut down transmission and I rolled the car off highway across street into parking lot where here I sit waiting.for tow. Tries to reset the epc light but I think i fried throttle position sensor

ive had the epc light come on a year ago. The next time i start the car it goes away. I took it to a vw shop and the code came back as fuel pump regulator.I didnt get anything fixed at the time and the light stayed off for months now it showed up again and like before it goes away next time i start it. The common condition when it comes on is when its cold and there is deep snow on the road. Please note no other light comes on and the car has always drivin normally so unless it starts to do something else im not paying hundereds for a electical gremlin.

Me too. I relaced the battery, and still on. Thermostat replaced, and still on. Drives fine and only comes on under heavy load of acceleration (launch). I can turn car off and turn back on and EPC is gone.

@@BriBorgersen If that would be blown brake light fuse (defective brake switch) then it would be illuminating all the time so I guess it could be water temperature sensor failure... Or if that lights up after you take gas just change brand of gas that you pump...

I have a 2010 2.5 lt sedan epc light came out l pay 350 to fix in the dealer l buy car next day on the morning car run fine but when l back use the car same day the light came out l scanner they told is the pedal sensor and one sensor from the motor the car run but slow how can l fix and how much please thanks you

Have you tried to connect control unit to VAG (OBD2 is ok)? It would tell more about the problem... EPC warning light can signal many problems...

I have a 2010 golf the epc light is on for my throttle body and my pedal position sensor I replaced the throttle body and every time I drive my car the epc light comes on and it has no power and the car been bucking can someone help me

It could be Coil pack... OR you can try unplugg your battery for about 30 minutes, afther that just let the throttle body adapt itself (it will be clicking for about 10-15 sec) and try it again...

Mine just came on after refueling. I was sitting at a stop light and the car shut off and the EPC gave me a call. So I pull over and tighten the gas cap and she disappeared!

hi i have an 2005 audi a6 quatro i had no problems driving but after i parked i went out 10 mins later to go out again and when i turn the key the dash lights up like normal you hear the the fuel pump but nothing when you start it, my battery is full . we put a tester on it and only got one code for evap. anyone know if this this sound possiable or is it another wild goose chase!?

If you try to speed up too quickly this light will come on also. But it will go off after you restart the car.

Hello Darien and thanks for the comment. Even if the EPC light comes on you can drive the vehicle, but your car need repairs and visit technician as soon as possible... It could be vary of things as is said in the video... Do it as soon as you are able to😉

Can anyone help diagnose my Volkswagen issue? I have a 2003 Volkswagen Beetle 1.8 liter turbo. My check engine and EPC light come on occasionally while driving. It might be on for 30 minutes then offer a couple hours it's always random. I do not experience throttle response issues when this happen. One time a few weeks ago I experienced falling and throttle response issues but it only lasted for a few minutes and went away. Can anyone help with the diagnosis or should I get a code reading and diagnosis

@@CarManufacturing can running your battery without the engine on cause this I work for a security company and I’m in my car for eight hours and I don’t like to run my car for eight hours so I shut it off but I turn the battery on to run my security light on top my car but when I turn the engine off and then turn the battery on i see the engine light and the EPC light go on but then it goes off in about five seconds is that normal Now I turn my car off for about an hour and a half and then start it up for about 20 minutes and then shut it off another hour and a half and I do that for eight hours will this cause EPC?
