"I'm tired of saying good shot, with these guys" :-) No kidding, when they are on it is truly amazing. Every time something difficult comes up, in any aspect, they typically make a good shot. "I'd throw that ball ..." "You can't throw it, you have to use your cue." Nice one, Danny. Jason @ 57:15 ... NO KIDDING ... I think the live viewers were asleep. Jason channels Pagualayan, humor wise. At 1:00:54 he definitely hit the 11 first, if I understand resultant cue path, that or some rattling went on, if that is even possible, and it wouldn't surprise me if so. If a double kiss of the two is possible I don't know how you'd call that, other than sound. I'll lay odds Shuman can tell you whether I am right there. And yeah, truly both at the same time is well nigh impossible. You can always break time down into smaller and smaller intervals and at, say, the picosecond or femtosecond interval, I suspect there may never have been two balls hit at the same time in the entire history of pool. Jeremy makes an excellent point there. It's not a practical difference, if close enough, just a absolute reality observation. Also sound will only get you to the frequency limit of hearing, probably about 14 kHz in Shuman's case, more like 20 in a very young person. That's hundred microsecond range. Sorry for the physics lesson, unless you enjoyed it. :-/ :-) Kind of like it's impossible to hit a truly center cue ball. I've heard Ronnie O Sullivan say he ALWAYS puts the tiniest hair of English one way or the other so there are no surprises in terms of which side it was hit, in terms of "micro" path line changes of the resultant cue travel, especially when three railing back to your position. I added the last eight words, and the micro. :-) One thing I find about watching straight pool, more than some of the other games, is even if it is grossly one sided, like this match, it is still fun to watch. There's not so much win/lose drama, unless the behind guy all of a sudden hits his stride, which in pro pool definitely happens, a lot, but just running 75-100-150 balls is a joy to watch. Therefor, great match, for me. Too bad SVB never got started, but he will do this to Jayson at another tourney, so there's that.

I love the pace of Shaws game. His patterns were perfect although he does occasionally take some high speed/high risk shots once in a while his str8pool game is top notch. Shame just looks out of his element in a str8pool match. He lacks confidence in his strategies and it shows in his stroke and decision making. It is impressive how Jason Shaw has been able to adapt his talent to games like str8pool and 8 ball rather than becoming just another rotation game player.

Funny, reads absolutely wrong with one typo in Shane, as shame. :-) Not picking, just observing.

Any ball, any pocket, you get one point for each ball pocketed. When one ball is remaining (The .1 in 14.1), the other 14 are racked again. The last ball must be strategically left in such a position that making said ball will cause the cue ball to carom into the new rack, such that you can continue shooting. The racks keep coming till you miss, or make the number of balls (points) that wins the match. In this case, 150. There's more to it, but those are the basics.

@@mrnobody3949That is arguable. SVB has won 5 U.S. Opens. Mike Sigel won 100 major tournaments before the age of 35 and by accounts I have seen has won the majority of matches he has had with Efren over about a forty year time span. Other players like Willie Mosconi and Harold Worst are also in the conversation for greatest ever.
