Pretty sure you have to keep the mating face paint free as it’s the friction that keeps the wheels on BMWs and not the wheel studs

I would run coilovers and raise the rear just a tad bit. Potholes and hard cornering is definitely gonna make them rub significantly

Since I'm running EMD springs, I actually installed the rear spring spacers after uploading the video. Now the rear is raised about 1/2", it sits perfectly and no rubbing with a car full of passangers!

Nah man 20s with 35 sidewall aren’t that harsh at all to be honest. Even 18” to 20”, It’s not as insane of a difference as you’d think, I know cause I’ve ran 17” to 20” on my f30.

I personally would have not sprayed hammer finish on the mounting area of the rotor. It is a heavy texture paint that could build up a few mm thick. I actually use steel wool and wd40 sometimes to make sure this surface has no gunk and corrosion.

The wheels are great. The tyres are no so great. They will give you AMAZING grip in the dry, but not so good in the wet. The real problem is they are really soft, so they will wear out real fast. I reckon you will get 3-4000 miles of hard driving out of them. The Michelin's will give you 20,000+ miles. The Michelin's are the cheaper option.

people forget how good OEM wheels are, and they sell 437m for cheap, those are forged wheels out of factory, super light and rigid..if they had BBS or HRE cap, they would be selling them for 6K $..If the wheels are forged, you can lose weight..I went with a wider wheel and tire setup, and I lost just shy over 1lbs..but I am running 295 tire on 10.5 forged wheel compared to 275/10 stock, and that is a gain in my book..and you get a minus for not just cleaning the aluminum corrosion on the hub :-)

Jake, good looking ride. Been following you. Got the EMDs and spacers after watching your video. Just ordered the Variant Argons today. Not quite as massive as yours though. I went with 20x9 up front and 20x10.5 rear. I'm right down the street from Variant in Arizona so I went with them. Your video had a lot to do with my choice. Good videos. Please keep up the good work on these videos. 👍

They look nice on the car but to be honest the stance looks kinda off. I don't know if you have an adjustable suspension but consider raising the back to match the fender gap that's in the front. Pause the video at 7:32 and you'll see what I'm talking about.

You clearly will rub if under hard acceleration with people in the car. For me on lower springs 20" with a slightly better offset than you I rub slightly. I have to have at least another 350lb in the car plus me for that to happen under mass acceleration. It's inner rub. You will likely rub outer but not sure. Also, when I say accelerate I have pure turbos, other things, and a custom BM3 tun that is something like 580rwhp on pump. Also, the heavier rims are likely to cause dyno numbers to go down about 14-20rwhp. Nice car btw. Keep up the good videos.

you can add a 1 inch lift it's pretty cheap you would need 4 of that I got them a few years back for my 7 series cost bout 10 bucks each

Wow Jake, these are amazing! And about Falken. I love them. I have them on my 325i and on my daily (Suzuki Swift Sport). Great price, lot of grip and the wear is also pretty good. But both are non-performance cars, so on the M3 you have to try these. I think it will come out great. Wow, what a car! Dutch regards, Nico.

Riding alone and over the bumb, you hear some rubbing. As soon anyone will seat rear or put stuff in back......it will rub.

Jake Spence put two adults in back seat that is your test. You will feel some rubbing as soon as you hit a smooth dip in the road.

I was torn! I was debating 18s, 19s and 20s. I think 20s fill out the wheel wells perfect. Like Mark said, you gotta see it in person. I think it might look slightly out of place now, but with all of the aggressive mods coming soon, it'll come together. Have faith 😎

Great fitment, I think for the fronts you coulda gone one more up as in 275/30. Wouldve filled up the fender more since when you look at the whole car, rears vs fronts seem to have a difference. Yes the different wheel specs make a difference but one up on the front tire i think woulda made it look better, Or maybe some 5 mm spacers might help

I believe since your have stiff performance suspension. There’s more play on the front obviously cause the tie rods, angles and turns. Some adjust the 12 and 6 o clock angle minor slant. Give you clearance. Depending on weight and drivetrain I’m guessing that eat your tires though. She is beautiful just the way she is. Did it give you any problems? On the rear?

True that! I actually already raised the rear after uploading this video. I installed the EMD spring spacer in the back and now it sits 1/2" higher. Perfect.

Looks tight as with them new shoes , remember as the wheels travel up they camber inwards so i doubt it would rub much if at all

That would be good on Audi but not on this small BMW. I would go 18" for your car. In my opinion the original wheels you had look mutch better.

Maybe the 4S (I don't have any experience with those), but these are gripping much better than the MPSS did. Wet and dry traction is improved and the noise is even quieter. So far I'm in love with them. Completely unbiased too.

Those wheels look dope! There's an easy fitment test: Just put an old wheel under your front right and left rear wheel and let the car slowly down on it. This will let the wheel dive deep into the wheelwell.

Jake, while shopping for new tires did you ever compare those Falken Azenis to the General G-Max RS? Both are same category and similar pricing. I need to get some new rubber for my 135i, but don't feel like spending $800+. Would be interested to hear your thoughts.

I haven't heard of those General tires. But I love the General Altimax Arctics for winter tires... it's a good tire brand IMO. See if there are any comparisons online. I chose these Azenis after reading good reviews from reputable tire sources.

If youre out for the looks rather then performance why would he buy expensive super grippy Michelin. Falken make good tires. Alot of new cars get them stock from factory

Looks amazing !!!! But would not want to daily drive this thing. Especially in your part of the country. This same set up in an 18” would be perfect. I drive my bmw like I stole it. Hard to enjoy the car when I’m always on the lookout for potholes and imperfections in the road.
