The very first record of a hospital in the world is in sri lanka in 437 B.c. declared open by pandukhabaya. The hospital was free for animals and humans. The structure of the hospital is still visible in Anuradhapura where there was a greek quarter

Man, this trip was absolutely amazing, it is a dream of ours to visit Sri Lanka, and to see it from your perspective really took it over the top. Did you do this directly after the Maldives? I may have to try to put these trips together on a bucket list trip!

Thanks so much Bro. It's only a 90 min flight from the Maldives and lots of flight options. We visited Colombo at the end of our Maldives trip. We did not have enough time to head to Kandy and the southern parts during this trip... we visited those areas a few years ago prior to us posting on KZfaq.

Did you knees hurt from sitting in the tut tut? Lol. I went to Sri Lanka several years ago and didn’t get to explore Colombo like this. Looks fun!

Did not hurt as much because we stopped frequently. It was fun. Its our second visit to Sri Lanka and we decided to do it because its only a 90 min flight from Maldives.

Thanks so much John. We had fun. We went to Sri Lanka after Maldives . Its only a 1.5 hour flight. We did the 5th freedom flight on Emirates direct from Maldives. to Colombo.

Sri Lanka is a beautiful country, we have many people who are from all around the world who have decided to make Sri Lanka their second home. Have you considered purchasing a property somewhere around Sri Lanka? You two are always welcome. Just realised you stayed for 50 hours, you need to stay for at the very least two weeks to travel around the country guys.
