Gorgeous! As an architect, I am rarely this complimentary about KZfaq design projects, but this is an exceptionally excellent build in so many ways. I have a very strong landscape architecture background in my education, as well as landscaping/gardening being my favorite hobby. I love the outdoors. The worst times spent outdoors are better the best spent inside. Not only did the details of the paver layout, decking, screen porch, etc. stand out as "Wow!", but the attention to safety, functionality, and ease of use and comfort were diligently thought out throughout the project. It's a nice house and a nice landscape. This project stands out and raises them to another level. Bravo.

I wonder what total cost was for that. Im guessing $60k for the deck/stone/wood trim. Then another $15k for the grill/fire pit/sod. So $75k total.

Watching the scribing of the trim piece against the stone on the screen porch, I have to wonder, why not just cut the stone 1.5" deep, jig out the cut to create a groove, and then fit the trim piece into the groove? Apply sealant to both sides of the connection and viola!, you have a perfectly seamless intersection between the new build and the existing. I've seen this technique used with installing glass panes that run from the exterior of a home to the interior of a home, creating the illusion that the stone wall runs thru the glass from outside to inside and it's gorgeous!

Project turned out amazing. Couple questions though. Did you put back flashing and flashing on the upper portion of the deck where the mini bar was? You’ve been a proponent of that in past videos but I didn’t see it in what you showed in this video. Also do you toenail or screw your joists? And if so why do that over joist hangers? Just curious. I have 0 construction background and started doing DIY landscape, paverstone, retaining walls and such, but this is just next level. The details you put into the basket-weave and all your cuts being so precise. There's a reason people pay good money for this kind of work. Forgive me if you said it in the video, but did you sand the joints of the pavers? They looked open last I noticed in the video. Great work!

I am curious why deck guys seem to all use screws for framing… is there a reason for it or just preference? Seems nails would be 100 times faster plus the additional sheer strength.

Can you offer to paint that guy's house in the background?

It looks great was worth the effort. My only concern it that decking is quite raised from ground. Wonder it cats,rats and ton of bugs won't find there a new home.

Scripture says how you are sending consequences to yourself and to your loved ones, children. By God's law you are. If you don't believe me ask Him, in Jesus name may you see and know the truth in its fullness. Love your neighbor as you love yourself.
