It is only slow because it has a transmission. That makes it unrideable for you. If they hooked it up to the primary and used a regular drive system from a sled it would be badass. Torque is king.

Honestly pretty much all these replies remind me of illiterate children all butt hurt because mommy wouldn't put their crappy drawing on the fridge type of thing. The only one who actually typed like an adult is Dragan M, but to his credit harleys win short light to light drags because you can pretty much dump the clutch and the thing won't leave the ground, whereas just about any sportbike sans traction control is going to wheelie. I think any sportbike 600cc or bigger will be faster using only 4th gear than any harley sans the v-rod (which these kids on here would say isn't a true harley because it has liquid cooling). You think harley invented the V-twin motorcycle?? Italian Moto Guzzi haves been doing v twins for almost 60 years, Ducati for 45 years, and there are others. To Rainbowrider jt Yea for cruiser bikes all the japs have gone to v twins to try and get a chunk of the money from folks who can't afford the overpriced hd bikes. They all do inline 4's and triumph inline 3's for the bikes that go fast, personally I don't like the sound of the inline 4's as you can't tell if it's a car or motorcycle until you hear either a fast shift or slow shift. I love the sound of v twin or v four motorcycles, just not the slow fart fart sound of cruisers, and especially those who think open exhausts actually sound good as they've never heard what a proper exhaust sounds like from someone like yoshimura, where it actually has exhaust with character and beautiful sound vs the screaming eagle folks that remind me of when I took the muffler off my stihl chainsaw and started it up. To the others, I feel sorry for your diaper bills as you all act as though you haven't potty trained yet, or you're the fat blind riders with chains on your wallets and tassels on your bikes who get all hurt when someone insults your amc harley.

No heavy street bike would be a good timbersled. Too heavy for any tough terrain, and who would want to stuff snow in a nice street bike to rust? And,,,its hard on the engine,,lots of resistance in deep snow. I could see many overheated engines. Best leave that to the dirt bikes.
