She was also the goddess of women and (i think) marriage and fertility. She cared a lot about whether or not someone cheated on their wife, and would condemn those that did. She had also never cheated on her husband, zeus, who had, and zeus had multiple children; not with Hera.

Fun fact: he did. He had also had totally 17 children: 3 with Penelope, 9 with Circe, 2 with Calypso and 3 with 3 other lovers. Although for Odysseus defense, this information about his children are coming from writers centuries after Homer's poems and many of them are just variations of the myth

I love how in the actual Odyssey by Homer Odysseus does end up spending a year with Circe but that is under her spell so it does not count and then he spends a year on Calypso's island and he is basically being SAed the entire time and he still never cheated on his wife so he got helped.

@@AryaTheHivewing It's literally one of the oldest books/stories in the world, if not THE oldest.. Homer wrote The Iliad (story of the Trojan war and Achilles) and The Odyssey, which is the story of a Greek general during the Trojan war (essentially the end of the Trojan war is the beginning of The Odyssey) and his 10 year journey back home to the Kingdom of Ithaca. The King/general's name is Odysseus - hence where the word odyssey comes from (meaning "a long and eventful journey"). Through the story we learn of Odysseus' past as a friend/student of Athena. He ends up cheating on his wife several times throughout the story. He fails a test Athena set up so that Zeus would allow him to return home sooner, he ends up pissing her off and she abandons him. It's also worth noting that the whole reason Odysseus is even stuck traveling back home for 10 years is because, as a student of Athena and the killer of Hector's innocent son, he pissed of Poseidon, who ended up sending massive storms to keep him away from home.

Acccctuallllllyyyyyy😂 in lots of the tales of odysseus(especially the one I read) he willingly sleeps with another woman on his way home from the Trojan war. Sleeps with a goddess for 10 years on an island(reluctantly but that’s because he wants to go home lol)And when reading the book, majority of the time he doesn’t think of this wife he thinks of his city and sometimes his son🥲

To be fair, if it weren’t for Zeus interfering with his life, that wouldn’t have happened. So even more of a reason for Hera to be mad at Zeus. He made the one of the faithful men in all of Greece double cross.
