I LOVE a good thunder storm!

Epic shots there Stephen your patience paid good dividends and hopefully a calendar picture for 2024. Yes I remember The Incredible Hulk back in the early 80s I think it was. Bill Bixby or something don’t know if he’s still alive but yes he used to say something on the lines of “Don’t make me angry; you wouldn’t like me when I’m angry”!

The suspense of whether your camera had taken the shot each time and your enthusiasm and excitement throughout made this video an amusing, brilliant watch. The last shot is definitely outstanding! Well done!

That last picture! WOW! The promenade lit up extending into the distance, with the Big One in the foreground and you can even see the "sheets" of rain in the middle clouds lit up, with the lightning in the background. Simply stunning photograph!

I think the storm was over St Helens last night around 1030 as there was lightning with very loud rumble of thunder virtually simultaneously.

Epic is right, lightening without thunder for a good 20 minutes and then the thunder and rain came where I live in Wigan and lots of it too. Some cracking photo opportunities, hope you caught more than a few 😊

That was brilliant - in an ideal world 2 identical cameras set up with the same exposure,speed and lens but timed 10 seconds apart would be handy but you need deep pockets for that ! What about a cheaper camera set up as a fail safe - would that work . Brilliant job and some great tips - Thank you Stephen.
