Finally, we are back guys. Both of us have been SICK AS DOGS. First Amalie for 7 days then Joen for 7 days. Thankfully we were able to film 3 vlogs in Porto. This is the first one! Thanks for waiting. Now the vlogs will be rolling! (lots of them)

Hello, From Porto here. My opinion is Lisbon and Porto are different types of cities. Lisbon turned to be more cosmopolitan, and gathers some of the traits of other european capitals. People are always moving fast, and the schedule the city is more modularized like places to work, places to have fun, places to eat. Porto, is like a village that turned into a city. It gathers the traits of the medieval towns. People are more laid back, since they try to bring flexibility into their schedules... why not have work and fun in the same day?

There are several hidden spots in Porto you have missed. The foz and seafood of Matosinhos some people say the best seafood in Portugal. Also Leça da Palmeira natural pool in the sea and of course the beautiful coast beach's. Serralves is one of the places you would certainly love it highly recommend you will be impressed. The north has got a lot to offer I believe there are a lt of secrets not even portuguese people know. Such a small country with so much unknown by people. Next visit to Porto and you will find it weird I must say please visit the church of Lapa and amazing gothic romance cemetery's. There's a lot more it such a magical city.

You guys have to go to the Jardim das Virtudes. It's just two blocks down the Base bar. One of the most beautiful sunsets in Porto is seen there and the vibes, geez, so great. Also, there's cheap beer there.

@@leticiadelafuente3996there are tours on segways, electric bikes, by foot, so many options. I recommend the ones by foot in the historical centre. I will send you a tripadvisor link to my friends' company tomorrow and you can see what people say about the various tours :)

You guys should go to other parts around Porto. If you like some typical but relaxing areas, you have the Foz region, for instance. You have amazing fish restaurants in Matosinhos as well. Also, visit Guimarães, which is the birthplace of Portugal.

You missed many other pretty parts of Porto, which is the margin of the river until the sea (do it in a bycicle on a shining day and you'll never forget), and the seashore itself until Matosinhos. You could also visit the 82 hectares City Park which has connection with the beach. The romantic high gardens of Palacio de Cristal with the most beautiful views over the river and Gaia (the town on the side of the river). I'm sure you'll return.

Hey guys, great video. Joen, Nice use of the word saudade! You guys should visit Coimbra. It’s the third largest city in Portugal and it has its oldest university. It think you guys would love it. It’s a university town so best to visit during the school year. They have an insane end of the school year party called Queima das Fitas. Cheers

Hello guys how are you everybody? Listen to this: Porto is a typical town of north Europe comparing with Lisboa is a typical town of sud Europe. You can see that by weather, people even the food. We usually to say, in Lisboa the people have fun and in Porto or north Portugal they work. It means sud of Portugal bitches and verde wine, north hard work. Porto is the prettier... it's unfair to Lisbon to do that comparison. :-P Unfortunately Benfica won then game... And then lost in Europa league against Dynamo Zagreb. It should have been the other way around. I really don't know how you can always manage to go in days that the weather is not good. There are easier things to do... Btw the other side of the river is nice too. There are a few tapas places that are good and some Porto wine caves that are worth going.

I agree with you guys when you say that downtown Porto looks prettier/ more appealing when compared to Lisbon. But once you start getting outside the nutshell of Porto´s downtown (especially Ribeira ,Aliados, Clérigos) you start to feel the gap concerning Lisbon... Besides downtown Lisbon you get Belém, which is a tremendous historic neighborhood, and the modernity of Parque das Nações. Porto has nothing compared to these... Take for instance the neighborhood where you live - Saldanha. If you were to compare it with the equivalent in Porto (Boavista) you would see the differences are significant... And even when comparing greater Lisbon and greater Porto, Lisbon wins by miles for me... Cascais, Sintra, Serra da Arrábida, Ericeira, Mafra... Lisbon is 2x bigger, and that comes with pros & cons, but Porto just looks economically more depressed... There seems to be no middle class... And finally, as you pointed out, being "only" 300km apart comes with some significant weather differences... Porto is rainy and cloudy when compared to Lisbon...

@Rasael absolutely. Most of the middle class chose not to live in the city. Therefore, in Porto you have more modest families in the historical centre, and wealthier families in Fiz and Boavista. Very different from Lisbon.

not the besr video you made......and the publicity of your AIRBNB is...depressing...you don't need to do that....Porto isn't my favorite portuguese city...too small,too old,too dark....visit Braga the oldest portuguese city (from the time of the romans) Viana do Castelo or close to Porto,Povoa do Varzim and its casino.....you'll love these 3 cities near Porto.

Lisbon is much older than Braga and so is Évora. Some people like myself like to see where 'Stay Classy' stay on their trips either it be an AirBnB or hotels. By the way very nice and well done video, thank you.

@@stayclassyvlog Hi....Because we have already seen you in Porto at least 3 times and it's always the same,your flash back with Joen's parents,the expensive restaurant where you pay a lot and eat a little...and the publicity to that AIRBNB where you write peolple can get 40 euros less if they book with your link....we know that you don't need that and everybody knows that it's much better to stay in a hotel or a inn like you did before in Alentejo and other places with room service and breakfast included than in an empty AIRBNB....Show us and the tourists that follow you, new places like you used to do, not 3 times Porto....Why don't you show everybody your hometown,Copenhagen,your restaurant,the avenues,the flights...all that would be much more interesting...sorry if you didn't like my comment but that's the way I feel..

@@jaimegomes6427 this is our 3rd time in Porto, so we have only been there two times before. We haven't made a vlog like this with flashbacks before so it can't "always be the same". I don't get your point regarding airbnb. A hotel is certainly "not always" better than an airbnb. Often times you get much more value from an airbnb, and since we get so many people asking about the airbnbs we stay, we figured it would make sense to include the win/win offer in case someone is going to Porto. I do agree that the vlog is similar to the last Porto vlog, but that was also our intention. It was "saudades in Porto". I do feel that we show a lot of new places? Maybe not our last three or four vlogs, but if you look at the vlogs we've done in 2019, we've covered quite a number of new areas. Anyway, thanks for the feedback. We always appreciate it! Please bare with two more Porto vlogs :-)! We actually do have a lot of exploring planned around Portugal!
