ABOUT THIS VLOG:
➡ After watching the big game between FC Porto and Benfica SL ( • Porto vs Benfica 🔥BiGG... ) we had one day left in the beautiful city of Porto.
We had planned out to see a lot of unique places around Porto where most tourists don't come, but as both of us was struck with the onset of a terrible flu the energy was very much limited to doing as little as possible, which is why we went on the typical tourist tour doing endlessly predictable things.
The lesson learned is that we probably shouldn't vlog when we are sick. :D

Monsanto! Go to Petiscos e Granitos and ask for the corn porridge (papas de carolo). It' s quite different from common desserts and typical of the region. I just hope the restaurant still exists but you can always ask around..

Glad you both are feeling better. Such a shame to go all the way to Porto and both end up with the flu. I went to that same book shop in February a couple of years ago... There was no que at all. And the weather was.... Okay/not bad lol. But will definitely check out the places you recommended. Also I'm making the move to Lisbon on Monday. Can't wait for all the amazing food, sights and shopping 🙌🏽

Viana do Castelo north of Porto near the border with Galicia, Spain, one of the most beautiful city of Portugal. In natural beauty it is unbeatable. I recommend your visit. Hugs and enjoy!

Foz and Matosinhos are often overlooked by foreign vlogs which in a way I sort of like it. When tourists think of Porto, they have no idea there is actually a nice beach area and you can witness one of the most beautiful sunsets in the world! I can't emphasize that enough (from a guy that has travelled all over the world). It's a bit of a gem that you guys can and should cover.

6:03 That's a common mistake but it was not him who designed that bridge. That was Théophile Seyrig (who had previously partened with Eiffel in other projects) who won the work against a project presented by Eiffel. Howeve,r Gustave Eiffel did design a bridge in Porto. You guys probably saw it (as you can see it from Luís I bridge), it's another metal bridge (it has a similar design to that one) a bit upriver for trains (it is now not used, another bridge was built to replace it), called Maria Pia Bridge. It is even older than Luís I bridge.

Haha, I had to laugh. I was about to write to you guys to tell you to go the Yeatman the next time you come, when I see you guys walking into Dick's Bar :) Well done! Speaking about luxury hotels, the next time you come to Porto, go check out the wrap-around Sky Bar (VIP lounge) at the Porto Palácio hotel. It'll provide you with some excellent views of the city (not to mention one of the best selection of drinks *wink* *wink* in the city [shout out to Joen] haha) and you can see a completely different side of the city that you've probably never been to (Boavista round-about and avenue, Casa da Música etc.).

You were in Porto streets wearing just a jumper, while Amalie was wearing a good coat. I thought it may have worsen your flu. Porto’s 4 degrees Celsius lower than Lisbon (average)... next time you go to Porto in Winter or early spring don’t forget to take a coat. The same happen with a friend of mine from Lisbon, I think people in Lisbon are quite used to pretty mild early spring and forget the Portugal northern cities are quite colder during the winter and spring.

Yes there is a bad virus out there .... I had the same type of flu last Sunday .... it mainly attacks throat and upper respiratory tract .... I had symptoms like bronchitis / asthma and an irritant dry cough ... I'm still in the healing phase ..... very annoying ...😵🥴

I love Porto. What a city, I prefer Porto. We visited last year and we went to Livraria Lello... we waited 35 minutes. It's a mess, but I had that in mind for years. The first time I went to Porto the library wasn't famous because the Harry Potter's writer hasn't mentioned publicly. That time, i spent a few hours in the city on a national holiday, so, it was closed. ahaha I loved the video! :)

The livraria lello is not the biggest and most important attraction in Porto It has only been like that (touristy) for 2 years! Actually in the past you could just enter the bookstore for free and admire the architecture and buy books. You should visit the gardens of Palácio de Cristal, the gardens of Serralves and Foz !

Are you guys still in Porto? If you are, you should explore the neighborhood of Foz, by the sea. The beachfront is beautiful, and there’s a street there that has 3 very cool restaurants, Casa Vasco, Terra and Cafeína. Not many tourists around, pretty nice :)

Hi guys. If the capital allow it, Porto And Gaia should be just one city like must city's of the world. But if that could happen the capital should go to Porto because population would be bigger than Lisboa.

So, I'm not entirely sure if my research is correct (but from what I've seen so far it is), but the bridge that you said Eiffel designed isn't actually accurate. Eiffel designed the Maria Pia bridge, not the Dom Luis bridge. They're confused for each other often because of the close proximity to each other (around 1km) and the designs are so similar. The Dom Luis bridge (where you're at for the 6:15 shot) was built by a student of Eiffel's (hence the similarities).

Hi again. Great vídeo and wonderful music you have such a good taste. Porto is a typical town of north Europe comparing with Lisboa is a typical town of sud Europe. You can see that at weather, religious faith, even the food. We usually to say, in Lisboa the people have fun and in Porto they work. If you ask me, cities above some size are claustrophobic, too much hurrying up, people stressed, pollution, trash, criminality, etc. Porto it's a balanced city to live, a medium size city, not too big not too small.

Actually, D. Luís I bridge wasn't engineered by Gustave Eiffel, it was a Spanish engineer instead. It is a common "myth" that is written on the internet. Eiffel did engineered D. Maria Pia bridge that is close to that one. D. Maria was D. Luís I's by the way...

I don't think it's cool to trash the other visitors for doing typical touristy things, stay humble. The image saturation seemed a bit low on these last videos, the lack of strong color grading doesn't bother me but they seemed a bit mute to me.

We don’t trash them. The whole video was with an ironic approach where we made ourselves into the actual braindead tourists even though we did point out that we don’t understand why people are willing to line up for hours to see a bookstore. Regarding the image saturation it’s likely because it was a cloudy day. It’s never easy to make colors pop under those conditions.
