Was a Cold day here for me. Anything under 15c is cold. We have been down to single digits that last week or so. Will do an unboxing video on Monday to Tuesday. Sunday today, so not long to wait. We will have a good look at it then.

When you can fit just over 5000W in almost the same footprint as 3000W older panels. It's time to upgrade. That will almost max out the little 5kW inverter. So yes, I am Maximising Efficiency! 😊

Both Inverters and Batteries have come a long way since we got into this, I remember when you got that massive bank of gray/white colored batteries and all the wiring it took to get those up and running.

Very limited space I have. Yes they are nice Solar panels. Been testing one on my camper trailer.

You've done the same as me with the Lynx Power-In. The other day, with 4.75kW of panels, I generated a whopping 0.6kWh. It's great to be in Melbourne sometimes!!!

Good morning Adam. A very brisk 7c when I hoped out of bed at 6am this morning. Yes, replacing the 2 strings is an easy way for me, Maximising Efficiency! Gaining Just over 2kW of power for almost the same roof space. That will take our total Solar power to about 13,500 Watts on the roof. And we increased our battery storage to 40kWh. Did not need to run the generator since we made the switch to lithium LFP batteries. Still have some panels on the roof that I can change, Maximising Efficiency even more. I may do that when they start showing signs of age and the performance drops off. For now though we are ok I think. :hand-purple-blue-peace:

Some of the panels on my roof have been in service since 2008 and their performance is showing their age, I will eventually replace them down the track. My string voltages are no where near as high as yours. Because I am a self installer I have to work within the ultra low voltage range and not exceed solar string voltages no higher than 120 volts.

You do know a lot of the regs do not apply to us off grid. However, the Voltage one does. Can't have people frying and getting crispy. DC at the volts I use will kill you dead. No coming back from that one. 🙃😉

With you system I know you can't parallel the inverters because they are different out puts IE 8kw and 5kw but you can peak limit one inverter acting as the grid and feed the rest from the other inverter have you tried this

Yes had it running that way for weeks as a test and it worked well. Used quite a lot more power doing it that way, though. They way I am setting this one up, Through the ATS, is how people on the grid would need to do it if they did not want to grid tie. The power companies in Australia DO NOT like hybrid inverters hooked directly to the grid unless you're feeding them Power. This just bypasses all their bullshit.

@@dama054 Something to do with the load sharing as both inverter had to stay powered up fully. The way I am doing it now. Is much better as it is now in full standby model. Only consumes 12 to 15 Watts. Average about 13 Watts an hour. If it was load sharing with the grid, it would be a different proposition.

@@JustinCaseSolarPower ok thanks just I am looking at the 8kw unit but at some time in the year might not be big enough so was thinking of putting one of my 5kw units up to mimic the grid and set up the load shaving

@@dama054 If you have the grid, load shaving will work well. I just have the 5kW unit as a backup inverter. Justin Case something is not right.

Lost me. Dumped out the Green bank battery. 10Kw is loads of power. So you've replaced it with a 6.1Kw battery?

Should have stayed for the rest. I got it to test next to the others. Some people live in other countries. You can't buy Green Bank outside of Australia. I am a Global KZfaq channel. So I try to cater for everybody. Like my good friend and subscriber From Chile, You know there are more people in the world then just us here in Australia.. lol. That side of the cabinet is my play room, where I indulge my hobby. I do what I like in that room. The other side powers our home. "@ChileExpatFamily I am seeing GREENBANK only sold in AUZ. @@frankmcalinden3699 Yes, I did not think of that. I get sick or people trying to tell me what we can do with our own money and Solar System. All I ever try to do is help others by testing gear here first. Then they know if It's good or not before they spend the $. Plus, it's my hobby. I may also be turning into a grumpy old man. Anything is possible. I am past 70 now 🤣

@@frankmcalinden3699 You don't understand how Li battery tech works. You don't move heavy batteries around, you switch them off. Li batteries are amazing as you don't need to worry about sizing. 5kw then a 10kw then a 12kw. You parallel them all together. You need to fuse to the lowest ah battery but most come with fuses on them. You'll need to pick one for bms comms or not! The bms will stop charging. You may have needed it out for the sponsor but I'd have covered it up. That 10kw would be handy if it rains all next week.
