Thank you Rossco. Having fun with CASA right now. Just making sure my commercial drone pilot licence is in order before we head out, bush. Drone rego and accreditation is not hard to have. It's just a pain dealing with government departments. Much easier to break the law like thousands or other KZfaqrs do, until they catch you or something goes wrong.

I thought about getting these years ago but the old ones used to melt and catch fire. People were gluing them to the tops of their RV's. With no way of distributing the heat generated, bad things happened. Let's hope these new one fair better. These would be great for the UK. Sunny cold climate these would be great.

I can show you what happens when you direct fault a solar panel. Never seen these low volt panels catch on fire. They simply stop producing if shorted. Maybe they failed to put in correct fusing on charge controller of battery side.

Yes, it would get hot. I see a lot of new sailing / cruising Catamarans are sticking them on the cabin roof. Can get very warm inside a boat. Wonder how they cope with that. I observe individuals committing substantial sums of money, exceeding a million dollars, towards the construction of these vessels. These are a waterproof panel as well, so this would be the type if not brand they are cluing on.

Then I think I will put them on my tin roof to keep a 12v battery charged up and look at them again in 12 months. By then I will know if they are any good. Be keen to hear your thoughts on buying a cheap Nissan Leaf from Japan Auctions as your second car and hooking it up to your solar thru a 12kW bidirectional DC to DC charger? Not interested at all in electric cars. I have friends that got them and have huge regrets. They just don't have the advertised range. The word RIP OFF comes to mind. IN country WA, we need that advertised range. I don't really need a car to power my home. Much more cost affective to use Green Bank. If they were to give me one, I would take it. Rip the battery out and sell the rest as scrap.

Its wild that Australia has some of the highest prices for energy with the amount of sun we get here, even with my tiny 2kw of solar/9kw of lfp I was able to go a year completely off grid, it was a bit of a struggle in the worst 3 months of winter ofcourse but most houses can easily fit double that in solar making it a breeze for an efficient home and when your paying 40 odd cents per kw it is a no brainer if you are willing to diy it. Paid off my system in 4 years and now I will just use the savings to upgrade my system to make my life even more comfortable, meanwhile most ppl are getting screwed for energy wether it be under their feet or fall out of the sky for free because our "leaders" sold out Australia right from under us.
